The other nite I got a cab home and the driver had no change.
So he gets out and rummaged in the boot and gets back with a handful of coins saying he can't change my $20 for a $15 ride.
We're rigth next to a 24 hour car wash so I suggest he pulls in and uses the change machine.
He reckons its closed and all this other shit and watns me to do an EFTPOS payment.
So I tell him to give me my money back so I can get out and get it changed and eventually he conceds and finds out I was right.

Hay C.I.A , the overfishing of tuna is a pretty big topic here in Jap ATM, The government had a summit recently with quite a few foreign guests to discuss the problem, the outcome (here at least) is that they have started a campaign which aims for people to reduce their daily tuna intake.

Punchline is that part of the lunch served by the hotel where the meeting was held at the summit was tuna sashimi.

Japanese fisheries have been devastated by the Nomura jellyfish, and there is good evidence to suggest that this is related in part to the devastation of the local fisheries and removal of predatory fish (such as Tuna) that clean the sea and remove excess polyps when they are juveniles.

Overfishing

Dr Richardson and his colleagues reviewed literature linking jellyfish blooms with overfishing and eutrophication (high levels of nutrients).

Jellyfish are normally kept in check by fish, which eat small jellyfish and compete for jellyfish food such as zooplankton, he says.

But with overfishing, jellyfish numbers are increasing. Jellyfish feed on fish eggs and larvae, further impacting on fish numbers.

To add insult to injury, nitrogen and phosphorous in run-off cause red phytoplankton blooms, which create low-oxygen dead zones where jellyfish survive, but fish cannot.

"You can think of them like a protected area for jellyfish," Dr Richardson says.

The researchers say climate change may also encourage more jellyfish and they have postulated for the first time that these conditions can lead to what they call a "jellyfish stable state", in which jellyfish rule the oceans.

Japan as a country has massively strong ties to the ocean and its produce... I honestly hope that they and all other countries see reason before Tuna and other critically endangered top-predators such as shark vanish in a massive tragedy of the commons.

Also, jellyfish sashimi just doesn't rock my world.

1. Australia doesn't even start to take near its weight of asylum seekers imo.

2. Can we have less taxi driveling peasant students at schools such as 'Technical University for Vague Business Studies of far North Queensland' and more in need asylum seekorz.

3. I propose we put all the taxi drivers on Christmas island and give the asylum seekorz their houses.

On Christmas island the taxi drivers will be forced to drive simulation Melbourne taxi routes (such as the ever problematic airport to city trip) In the future there could be the possibility of keeping the taxi drivers on Christmas Island (until they die) and they can remotely operate taxis, like airborne surveillance drones in Pakistan. Thus saving us the inhumanity of dealing with these lifeless scamming cretins.

If they become good Remote Taxi drivers they get to come back here. Within 10 years we will have the worlds best taxi drivers and we can be a very happy community.
