Holy crap. This is the control surface to end them all.

I could direct you to the website...

... but the only way to really appreciate this controller is to see some vids of it in action.

Wicked. Would be great as a live tool too, to hook up to a screen so that crowds could watch you sequencing.

If I win lotto I'm getting one. I'll even get you one too Heggsy.

Are you planning on winning lotto any time soon?

Probably. But you can use all ten fingers to control it at once. Try that with a mouse.

Yeah.. but check out the tutorial vid. You can design your own controls to use on the lemur which can be mapped to your existing audio software.

I don't know what gives you that idea. Having multitouch-sensitive faders could be pretty handy for writing automation on multiple channels or parameters at once in a mix. And anything that speeds up your workflow has gotta be a good thing in my book. Even if it is only milliseconds.

Also, I think the touchpad technology could apply well to digital mixers or consoles that would normally use motorised faders. I've had a shocker of a time trying to get my faders working right.

Horses for courses. If you're happy with the mouse, stick with it.

edit- oh and another thing. This device sends OSC messages, which kicks the shit out of MIDI. Won't be sorry to see that old dinosaur finally disappear.

i tend to mix as i go and not really use volume automation is all, i can see it saving time for that sorta dealy, and everyone loves hands on stuff, or so it would seem, esp if its like, lights and not knobs n sliders
