Indoor Rock Climbing

Post by breaksRbest »

Who's up for some Indoor Rock Climbing?

There's a new place in the city (just next to Miss Lib's) that I've been hanging to try

I haven't done it for years, but scaled up the wall like I was Spiderman the last time I did

Anyone wanna take turns to belay?

I'd be interested too.

Drew is a pretty good rock climber apparently, you should let him know
Free to those that can afford it, very expensive to those that can't.

Far out rock climbing is hard work! I remember doing it a few years back and my forearms cramping up on me....

All about strength to weight ratio.

I am so not fit enough to be tackling that.

I saw that place in the city the other day too, Hardrock.
http://www.hardrock.com.au/

I have never been climbing before, so I'd probably like to try their courses, but they don't do them in the city yet. :(

"Group bookings are for a minimum of 10 people and run for a total of 2 hours.

The benefits of making a group booking are obvious, your entry is reduced from $29.00 per adult down to $18.00 each."

that's pretty cheap!

let me know when you guys can make it

kinda like indoor skiing or indoor downhill mountain biking.

Isn't 50% of it about getting out of the indoors.

Werribee Gorge is only bout an hours drive, same with the You Yangs. Dont get me wrong, Hardrock is pretty cool when it comes to indoor climbing, but nothing beats the real stuff, so much more adrenaline and fresh air and views and just a better day out.
Im just saying if you like indoors, find someone who has a rope and all the gear and the know how and get them to take you, even just to Werribee Gorge. Camels Hump on Mt Macedon in Summer is nice too

I went there saturday morning after a pretty fucking random friday night, hence the random action on saturday morning.

Good fun. Bit tough on the fingers though

Drew used to be a hardcore climber/boulderer and use to do route setting for some of the gyms, you should let him know. Glad they've moved from Nundawading, used to be a friggin mission to get out here.

Camels hump for me, wasn't a big fan when I visited Werribee. For a real climbing fix, head out to Arapiles or the Grampians - some world class climbing out there...

I need to climb again...

used to indoor climb heaps when I lived in Sydney - 3 times a week kinda thing.. but done nothing since moving down here so a little rusty

Heard about this place, seems a little expensive, but then it does look like the bollox and is in the CBD.

If anybody is looking for a partner or needs numbers for a group, just let me know as I'm keen as mustard!
