Drawing with a pen, pencil or paint-brush is completely different to a tattoo. I'm not talking about someone who has never tattooed just decideing to tattoo their latest piece of digital graphics

I'm talking about someone to uses a computer to come up with the design, not someone who uses a computer to show you what they can do. If they're experienced tattooists (which they should be) then you can see what they've already done in their folio anyway.
yeah get ya sort of half read what u said.

i think myne is being part done on comp.

unless your getting the tattoo artist to design your tatt as well as ink it then it makes no difference whether the artist has ever graff'd before, IMHO

btw - my forearm tatt was designed in Photoshop

i dont agree brb, but thats just my opinion.

and your arm tattoo is font.
font and numbers on computer is different to a drawing generated in photoshop.

and re > isnt nic's art real art.
yes it is, because he is good at it.
but there is a lot of shite art made on comps too, so im generalising when i say fuck pooter tatoo designs

k?
sheesh.

(i dont know much about computers)

on a cereal note - how do tattoo artists like doing pieces that you have drawn up and take to them? surely its alot less interesting for them etc? are they likely to just give you a freestlye bong instead?

i think that if the person has graffed b4 they are going to be able to re-create the style alot better,
than some one that hasnt.

every tattoo artist is going to put there own twist on somthing, it isnt going to be exactly the same.

therefore i would like some one who understands the art that i want to get done better than
some one who has never done it before.

thats my opinion anyways

most are fine, but they might tell you something valuable cause art on paper is different to art on skin.
i dont know any good artists who youd take your picture of a rainbow to and they go, 'you should have a bong instead'

however, i do know many people who have gone with some intricate, tiny thing and the artists has said, nope, thats gonna look shit in two years, get it BIGGER. and bolder.
my hip design is WAY bigger than i intended, but he assured me when i get a bit older and start to spread (egads) it will look better bigger and bolder. and im glad i did.

small tatts usually end up bleeding together and looking shite imho, unless they are real simple or just linework...

Re: Tattoos

Post by ghetto kitty »

it should take two or three (edit > weeks!) to fully heal.

first night, plastic bag it. then in the mornin, shower is okay but be gentle.
pat dry it with towel and then wait for 20 or so so its FULLY dry before putting bepanthem on.
when you put it on, rub it in well. if its REAL hurty on first mornin you cna put hte plastic on it to stop rubbing on your shirt, but it needs to breathe as much as possible, so when you can wear no sleeves, like inside the house or whatever...

youll go through a few stages, it will feel tight and dry lots, keep the bepanthem in your bag and put it on whenever it gets dry.
dont buy the tatt stuff they sell at tattoists, only bepanthem (its not as good and more expensive)

eventually the top layer of coloured skin will peel off in bits. DONT peel it, let it fall off itself.it might peelk a couple times depending on the depth of the colour. bits like elbows and the soft skin on inner arm take longer to heal than tough outer skin like bicep.

biggest thing is DO NOT SCRATCH IT. no matter how itchy. just touch it lightly, and put more cream on.

the first night, take it real easy, youll be high as a fucking kite from adrenaline, a 3/4 sleeve is a big job. if you need to relax a drink or two is okay after its done, but alcohol thinks your blood and slows the healing process so i wouldnt go binge for the first week, but thats jsut me.

dont go swimming. (good thing its winter)
any worries, DONT SCRATCH IT, and pm me! ;)

lizkins > post a pic of your current tatt and tell us what you would like it to become. maybe i can reccomend someone!

my only worry is that i have to wear a buisness shirt to work, do you think that will be a problem or should i just rub the stuff on
it all the time?

take it real easy at workshop!!

can you wear a long sleeved shirt under your buisness shirt?
becasue it NEEDS to have bep. rubbed on it every hour or two, no shit, and if your just wearing buisness shirt it will stick and rip the ink when it dries, no good. also they will see the darkness underneath...

depending on wehat body part im healing, ill go and buy a copule cotton shirts, socks etc to devote to the healing process as they will just get a layer of bepanthem on them and so not stick to you, you can wash em every few days on rotation, and then you can throw em out at the end.

they'll put Glad wrap on your arm when they're finished, ya leave it on for a day, max

btw - everyone heals differently. Mine didn't scab up at all, didn't get itchy and nothing 'peeled off'

I just kept it moist with Bepanthem, simple as that

small tatts > yes. but also your was on inner arm, skin much softer there.....less layers to penetrate - less to peel off.

3/4 sleeve is a big job. it will peel, it will be itchy. ill put $$ on it.
