What are you going to get?

Can I suggest a snake eating a tiger that has wings and is on fire set on a glowing australian flag with "fully sick" tagged on it?

post the design imo
i want one but im scared it will be wrong

i reckon get 'dubstep' in chinese characters, or even jsut get 'oriental style' characters - in the small of your back so when you wear your midriff tanktop and lean over it shows?

apophenian > that unicorn tatoo is a contender for worst ever!

nic > and nic, dont think forever, get inked while your young! (and taught ;))
you have a great sense of design man, choose a body part , and pick something that resonates with you, something silhouette or just B&W line work would look great!!!

petey > chapel tattoo is great if you can wait months and months...have had many reccs there and seen some good work but i go in there and they are waaay too cool for school...
imho there are many artists in melbourne to rival those guys.

tattoo majick > geordie is a friend of mine, he is AMAZING at jap styles.
he is one youll have to wait to see too, but worth it.
many of mine came from dan, a kiwi who worked there for a couple years and is now gone,
he designed them too, and the boys there think i 'cop it sweet'
id reccomend all the regular artists they have there, and ive been inked by the 'guest' artists and they are always great too...

eternal instinct > my current studio. craig deuce who is also a graffer has designed and finished off a few for me. he is currently worknig on my next one, a thigh piece, where i have more arrows but also start the cherry blossoms that are gonig to go all through my arrows i already have...
giovani who owns the shop is also known worldwide for his jap styles...

time for the arrows all over to get a bit organic, ive decided, and i love the symbolism behind the cherry blossom (like the japanese ideals behind it more than the chinese)
but am a bit hesitant as i just cant imagine how its gonig to look even tho craig has pictured it already.

post your arm design pete!!!
and shop around for a tatooist, go speak to them, some of them will treat you like shit casue your a cleanskin, (are you? im assuming) but youll find one who sees your design and goes 'YES, i see it, like this !!"
and starts drawing or something, then, thats your artist!
if you dont get a good vibe off them dont get inked by them!
thats my advice anyhow...

sorry for rant, need ink myself soon or ill go crazy

lol, yeah the design should be done in two weeks, drew the guy who does the bass high flyers is doing it.

going to have to check eternal instinct.
been hearing good things, the fact that he is a graffer aswell is good, cuz this is going
to have that sorta graff feel, lots of thick out lines.

going to be mainly black and white with little bits of green, red and blue through it.

had a look at kate's stuff from chaple tatto, i really liked her style.

my grandma used to work with geordie b4 he was a tattoist, she said to go to him, but
the wait is stupid and i dont know if i can wait that long.

will have another re think and have a look at all these places.

i have also heard there is a good place in richmond, cant remember the name tho..

Craig Deuce is mad, got a mate who has two massive pieces by him and they are some of the most vivid and striking tatts I've ever seen.

Jordie is a loose cunt lol. Great at Japanese tattoos though, amazing actually ;) Hey kitti, is Sean still at Tattoo magic? He's really good too.

yeah craig just really GOT the arrow thing,.
he finished the design on my backpiece and designed my lower right leg, which is why im gonig to him for my left thigh...arrows go up, arrows go down....

geordie IS a loose cunt, loads of fun! for serious, his designs and execution is incredible,...
same waiting time as chapel tatoo tho...

not sure if i know sean at tattoo majick?

I got my first one at Chapel shit 15 years ago now..... they are way bigger than they were... good ink as well

Kitty - spot on babes, their art is boring and fashion orientated... They are HELL rude, but thing that made me laugh was that it was not like their talent was there to back up said rudeness...i mean COME ON......

I am getting m=the Aust Navy Wings and my uncles service number on my wrist to commemorate my uncles passing 10 years ago....

Go Japanese kanji! But for god's sake be selective - don't go all hippy and pick the kanji for "love" or "peace" or whatever. Think outside the square.

I got "fuyu" (winter), which isn't so far outside the square, but it's a long story (a broken heart involved, blah, blah, blah; break out the Kleenex), and had it done at a place in Bridge Road, Richmond, about 10 years ago. They were cool. But it bloody well hurt!!

That'd be Dynamic Tattoo. Trevor McStay is a legend and Sara's work is fucken awesome. BIG wait times from what I've heard and not sure if their style is exactly what you're looking for though...

Maybe check out Third Eye Tattoo in Fitzroy too - they are new, but seem to be making quite a name for themselves.

Definitely go with someone who will really dig your piece :smt023

Jeez, get it right - it's a naked chick pulling a bong, riding a tiger with wings that is being eaten by a snake, which is on fire; all set on a glowing Southern Cross with your great-grandfather's name in Old English font...

Seriously, I understand your preferance for hand drawn art and custom tatts.... BUT you can't sit up on a high horse and say that Flash isn't "real" tattooing blah blah... A tatt is a tatt :? I don't like flash tattoos either, that doesn't make them "fake" or "not real".... some people like them meh.

regarding computer generated... I don't think you should pick a tatt from a computer generated image, for sure, you want to see how it looks on skin and whether the artist can pull it off....

BUT, I see no problem with using a computer to generate images to use for tattooing... why not? it's an available tool (like a pen) and tattooists use stencils to mark out their work anyways, it's not as if the computer is actually doing the tattooing. As IF computer graphics aren't just as respected art forms in this day and age... I mean, look at the stuff nic does. I would expect him to use those type of images in a tattoo too. Would that be "lame"??

Hmmm... mind-expanding... take some freakin LSD people! Hell of alot more fun. You don't have holes all over your back in the morning (this cannot be guaranteed). You don't look like a human pin cushion. You get to talk to bouncing yellow sheep all in the middle of the dancefloor!!

Drawing with a pen, pencil or paint-brush is completely different to a tattoo. I'm not talking about someone who has never tattooed just decideing to tattoo their latest piece of digital graphics

I'm talking about someone to uses a computer to come up with the design, not someone who uses a computer to show you what they can do. If they're experienced tattooists (which they should be) then you can see what they've already done in their folio anyway.
