MIKE CALLANDER
http://www.myspace.com/mikecallander

What kind of DJ warms up for SuperMayer, John Aquaviva and Alex Smoke on the same weekend? Or before Lindstrom at a festival, before Marc Houle at a club gig, and then a closing set after Stephan Bodzin on the same night? This is the pivotal role played by Mike Callander in his beloved hometown of Melbourne.

Mike Callander's experience as a DJ is as diverse as one of his sets. With a unique and edgy sound that defies typical definition, and a versatile approach to mixing and programming that is equally suited to dancefloors and dinner parties, Mike is one of Melbourne's only DJs who might play to a house, techno or progressive dancefloor on any given night.

Mike has held long-standing residencies at some of Melbourne's most important clubbing institutions such as Sunny, Fokus, Nano, and currently at Poison Apple and Pretty Simple, but perhaps his most treasured residency was at Honkytonks, for which he also recorded a mix CD “The Last Dance" that made its way into record stores across Australia and as far away as Japan.

Mike's DJing has also earned accolades from countless touring international artists, with many labelling him one of Australia's finest - most notably Get Physical DJ T., who invited Mike to play in Berlin at his anniversary event to celebrate 20 years of DJing.

EDITOR
http://www.myspace.com/editordubstep

Editor is a collaboration of Melbourne musicians DJ Soup and Richard Burns. The duo performs live original compositions using laptop computers, synthesisers, trumpet, percussion and various other instruments. Editor’s sound encompasses aspects of Dubstep, Dub, Minimal Electro, Reggae, Hip Hop and other broken beat styles. Individually, the duo have worked as professional musicians for around a decade with acts including Miso and The Red Eyes and have been collaborating on this project since the end of 2008. They immediately caught the ear of accomplished electronic music producer Spoonbill who was quick to offer support through his label Omelette Records.

Editor has recently emerged with their full length debut release Interview Techniques (Omelette/Amphead Music) drawing influence from artists as diverse as King Tubby, Miles Davis, Timbaland, RZA, Rusko, Tes La Rok and Flying Lotus to name a few. The overall result is a journey through the sonic spectrum with interweaving twists and turns tied together by richly textured channels of groove, ultra slick production and discerning musicianship throughout. “fresh, new, world class and Melbourne” – Inpress 8/7/2009

Aside from the countless hours of late in the studio the pair have been honing material for Interview Techniques at festivals, clubs and parties (including a foundation shaking show at Rainbow Serpent Festival) and recently launched their album with US Dubstep ambassador Joe Nice. Editor’s live show is further complemented with striking visuals referencing vintage video games, Japanese sci-fi, psychedelic animation, evolution and other peculiar oddities warped for sensory delight.

SUB-BASS SOUNDSYSTEM

Sub-Bass. The crew that brought you Melbourne's biggest Dubstep gig - Skream & Benga, are now bringing you a taste of bass in the bush at Ostara 09.

Sub-Bass started off as a backyard house party crew until things got too big and they moved into doing club nights, and free bush/warehouse party's. With a focus on local talent, Sub-Bass has always believed in throwing a good party that everyone can enjoy without attitude or rinsing out your pocket and bringing together Melbourne's growing Dubstep community.

Now the Sub-Bass crew are bringing their party to Ostara. Some of their finest residents, Baron Von Rotton, The Shredder & Deall team up with guests for a 3 hour party set to spin Drum&Bass & Dubstep, alongside visuals by Doug-Step, Monitor and Inxile and MC Harzee on the Mic

If you haven’t been to a Sub-Bass night before, this will be a great chance to come along and see what they're about.

THE SHREDDER

The Shredder has been bashing bush and warehouse parties in Perth Melbourne and Sydney since 2002. He has supported some of dubsteps big boys like Distance Skream Benga and Bassnectar. Keeping true to the original selecta’s the shredder will be sure to get you skanking across the dance floor.

DEALL

Deall represents New Zealand and New Grounds. In his Native Land he’s supported the scenes heaviest hitters such as Andy C, Friction and Bryan G to name a few. Now a Melbourne resident, Deall can be heard playing fresh Drum & Bass tunes and has a great party vibe.

BARON VON ROTTEN

Baron von rotton Melbourne’s own has been living music from a young age from playing in bands to now smashing out heavy bass sounds on the decks. With his name on the bills of some heavy weights like Dextrous ( the others ) Deekline Skool of thought and Reso. Baron von rotton will slam the speakers with some dirty rotton bass lines to melt your body.

FLIPPO
http://www.myspace.com/musicflippo
Pressing Issues (UK)
Formant Recordings (USA)

Flippo - bringing some epic bass-weight to the Ostara masses. With vinyl releases on Pressing Issues (UK) and Formant Recordings (USA) and international recognition from the likes of BBC Radio1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs, Flippo has been a key player in putting Australia on the global map of what is undoubtedly the freshest underground dance scene on the globe today- Dubstep.

Only years ago a renegade faction of producers at the fringes of the London 2-step scene rebelled against the champagne and bling infected UK Garage to create a new darker sound from here Dubstep was born. Since appearing on the radar the sound has matured and diversified at an astonishing rate, cross polynating with sounds from jungle, reggae, techno, hiphop, metal, as well colourful doses of Arabic and Eastern flavours to boot. It was the revolution that provided a creative catalyst for stagnant broken bass scenes across the globe. This is not music that can be properly experienced on your home stereo - this is heavy soundsystem music. Truley physical sub-bass.

Flippo's take on the sound is also a cerebral one, blending organic sounds and digital experimentations into a more progressive package, while still maintaining the deep sub movement that gives the music its intense physicality.

AGENCY DUB COLLECTIVE
http://www.myspace.com/agencydubcollective

Agency Dub Collective are a live 6-piece band from Melbourne, who play original dub, roots reggae and dancehall music, infused with a revolutionary spirit and grass roots politics. With a history dating back to the turn of the millenium, they can be counted among the true pioneers of live dub and dancehall music in Australia.

Their music ranges from poignant downbeat dub and roots styles to lively dancehall and stepper vibes. A heavyweight rhythm section of drums, bass and percussion lay down a foundation of very dance-oriented grooves layered with echo-drenched guitar, keys, synths, samples and melodica. Sometimes chilled-out, beautiful and classic, at other times rugged and futuristic, Agency Dub are constantly evolving, exploring and innovating at the outer relams of dub.

With their passionate and articulate frontman 3oB at the helm, they deliver a variegated homogeneity of vocal stylings, ranging from sweet reggae falsetto to rowdy rap and ragga. Seeking to reflect the interconnectedness of all things, the lyrics connect personal and global themes and express a vision of humanity beyond the current capitalist paradigm.

EL MOTH & THE TURBO RADS
http://www.myspace.com/elmothandtheturborads

El Moth & The Turbo Rads were spawned in early '08 after many late night/early morning jams in lounge rooms, sheds, bedrooms, backyards, alley ways, warehouses, rooftops, parks and wherever else they could find a power source and an appreciative audience.

Fast forward to '09, and not a lot has changed, except perhaps a greater understanding of where the boys are coming from, and few more angry neighbours. After playing various gigs at parties throughout the inner northern suburbs, the buzz has heightened, the word has spread, and the band have landed gigs at venues and festivals throughout the state. El Moth & The Turbo Rads will be unleashing their punk-funk reggae party once again at Ostara, and are glad to have been welcomed back.

LUBDUB
http://www.myspace.com/lubdubdub

It began with two inspired friends brought together through an intense love of music and a belief in its ability to connect and heal. Lubdub share a vision of unity, bringing people together to create and share in the vibrations of Peace, Harmony, Self expression and Love through Music and Dance.

Lubdub have been cooking away in the Lublab since mid 2007… Crafting, creating and cutting electro-acoustic delights, refining a unique and incredibly flexible live setup that allows the music to spontaneously lead both the musicians and you alike along an intriguing sonic journey trekking through the deserts of Dub/Reggae, the wilderness of Downtempo Psy and the wide oceans of World Music…

Lubdub’s live shows are what truly set them apart from other electronic acts; live guitars, flutes, keys, chant & percussion bring to life their already vivid compositions. Carefully woven & incredibly deep arrangements that continuously evolve, a blending of the organic & electronic, a merging of traditional & modern, a balance of intuition & intention, a synching of left & right hemispheres…

At the core of the group lie two very dedicated & talented musicians:

Fred Woller (Production, Keys, Computers & Audio Wizardry)
Yuval Shalit (Production, Guitars, Keys, Flute, Chant, Percussion)

Both have firmly planted themselves in Melbourne’s flourishing live music scene, Yuval having spent the last 5 years as the main man behind the sound of some of Melbourne’s premier live music venues, and Fred through his involvement with the very successful live DnB & Dub outfit K-Oscillate.

Lubdub have quickly generated momentum following a sneak peek show @ Matreiya Festival early 2008. Since then they’ve headlined both Ostara & Peyo festivals and packed out several Melbourne metro shows; 2009 sees the release of Lubdub’s breakthrough self titled debut album

SHERPA SHERPA
http://www.myspace.com/sixty80

Sherpa Sherpa take the Big Bang approach to making music. From the outset the band knew that in order to make the most challenging, creative music they could, then each player’s styles, influences and attitude should be thrown into the pot, rather than promote a single viewpoint. This demands time and patience but early results leave no doubt that it is all worth it. With a mix of ambient instrumental, twisted standards and psychedelic rock energy, Sherpa Sherpa have the ability to turn on the most diverse audience.

Sherpa Sherpa arrived on the scene in early 2008 and made an immediate impression on audiences in their hometown of Geelong, and it wasn’t long before they were stealing the show as supports for My Disco, Ten East (USA) and The Meanies. As Geelong increasingly becomes a haven for insincere fashion rock, Sherpa Sherpa have become the go-to band when there’s a need something intense, original and genuinely exciting.

The last year has been particularly exciting for the band, having been asked to play a diverse range of shows, with bands of all shapes and sizes. Local press has been especially excited about the band as well, all off the strength of their live performances to date.

With a reputation for immersive live performances and with the atmosphere their music creates, there is no better stage for Sherpa Sherpa than the Ostara Festival.

http://www.myspace.com/themolluskband
http://www.omelette.net.au/artist/the_mollusk

The Mollusk AKA Shane Vigo was formed in 2001, and after several releases went back to the studio to re-develop and expand his unique sound. The Mollusk strayed away from the more ambient style of electronic music and started to experiment with a glitchy upbeat dance vibe, taking inspiration from 70's Funk, Disco, Electro, dub-step and just about everything else! In more recent years The Mollusk has been churning out funky, dynamic, animated beats at such party's as Renaissance, Rainbow, Winter Solstice and much more.

The Mollusk's idiosyncratic sound will have you questioning where reality ends and the land of milk and honey begins, he's formula of bringing together ageless classic sounds with a glitchy, fat, sloppy mid range and rolling bass has the crowd twirling, playing spinning and toppling over.

Right now the Mollusk is enjoying a national tour around OZ whilst working hard in the studio and preparing to releases an album in late 2009.

COW & BANANA SHOW (THE BIG:RED:BUS)
http://www.thebigredbus.net

Some people just don't take life too seriously!

Take for instance Tony Loucas and Andy Simpson (andycan) who prefer to mix it up disguised as a cow and a banana. It's not that they don't take their music seriously - quite the opposite in fact. And they take the environment pretty seriously too.

They are two of the founding members of the BIG:RED:BUS stages and parties, where the use of sustainable alternative energy is always used not only to run the sound and lighting equipment but also to power the bus herself too. You may have been to one of their monthly parties at myAeon in Brunswick where laid back partying to sweet tunes is what it's all about.

Veterans of many years of festivals such as Earthcore, Rainbow Serpent, Akasha, Freedom, EC in the Park, Maya Project, Sustainable Living Festival and many others, they know it's more about having the maximum amount of fun without costing the Earth.

So expect a bombardment of the senses and a smile to appear on your face when the banana and cow hit the stage - a mix of tribal rumblings, progressive layers and psychedelic trance madness to keep those feet (and udders) moving.

No fruit or farm animals are mistreated or injured during their show - usually!

TIM HARVEY (RAINBOW SERPENT FESTIVAL)
http://www.myspace.com/timjharvey

Tim’s sets represents everything fun, funky and driving in electronic music. His precise mixing and remarkable track selection never fails to get a dancefloor moving. He is a favourite on dancefloors where his down to earth and warm nature shines through his music and connects with each individual on the floor. There are always smiles when Tim is playing!

Juggling other commitments, he spends as much time as possible in the studio (not enough) where he tries to hammer out at least a few tracks each year to satisfy his creative yearnings.

Tim has been a long term fixture at some of Australia’s most well-respected electronic music festivals including Rainbow Serpent Festival, Tribeadelic Gatherings and can also be found playing around the various Melbourne clubs and smaller outdoor festivals.

Internationally he’s played across Europe and South East Asia, an experience he enjoyed so much he is planning on spending more time over the next few years indulging his itchy feet and travel fantasies.

These days Tim’s still actively ‘out there’ as a DJ and working behind the scenes on the successful Rainbow Serpent Festival each year. He is still having the time of his life and is loving the recent resurgence in good interesting and fresh tunes

RHYTHMIK - LIVE (MORNING MONSTER RECORDS)
http://www.myspace.com/rhythmik24

Rhythmik is the sound project of Michael Scarlett, a 25 year old from a cosy little house in Northcote.

With 10 years exposure to electronic sounds, he has developed a very particular ear for what he likes, and will always follow this over trends, formulas or what his Mum says is kicking.

His shows involve live drum machine and synth work, and cross a range of styles, emotions and tempos, quite often within the one track!

The sounds are grunty, funky, melodic, bouncy, quirky and sexual....... oh so sexual.

If you are a bit sick of the same old and want something different, come check out Rhythmik for a funked up fun boogie!

NACHOES

Nachoes is the embodiment of the extreme tortillatarian nachoist movement.

The movement began when he was the tender & impressionable age of 12, when he was first exposed to a variety of styles of electronic music. The movement continued & found the psytrance scene in '99 which he has been involved with ever since.

Djing for over 5 years now, Nachoes has had the pleasure of working with such crews as; Psychotic Episode, Psyevolutions, Mutagen, 3rd Ear, DXM, Dark River, Looney Logic, Mushroom Madness, Unity Vibration, Sonic Circus, Lyserjunks & Silent Partner, Shapeshifters (NSW) & now the Ostara Community (thankyou very much).

Nachoes has also had the pleasure of playing alongside international artists such as: Chromatone USA, Headroom SA, Khopat POR, Cosmo SLO, Highko GER, Raz ISR, Luke Psywalker AUS.

Nachoes can come in a variety of flavours; they can be sweet or salty, hot & spicy or hot or spicy, they can be crunchy & messy, they can some with lots of salsa & sour cream & can even be topped off with quacamole... but rest assured they are never boring!

Faeorin - the coming together of the two ends of the earth. Javier Ponce Alvarez (aka Chwen) is a Mexican DJ and sound engineer who is well known for magical, mind-blowing psytrance and progressive sets. His partner, Jess Stafford has grown up playing a swath of different instruments and reveling in jazz, rock, folk, blues, pop, world music and any other strange acoustic sounds that tickle her fancy. They met and fell madly in love in Mexico in 2006 and in 2008 created their project Faeorin to encompass both their firm belief in the magical and the surreal, and their love of music in all its multifaceted brilliance. Since their live debut at Ostara Festival in September 2008, Faeorin have had fantastic support from the Australian electronic music scene with bookings for Ostara’s Sa Ta Nama I and II, Spiral Harmonics Festival, Renaissance Festival, Mutagen’s Diaspora II and Interview’s Color of Sound just to name a few. They have an upcoming release on the Uxmal Records compilation “Mexican Progressions 2” which will be released in July/August 2009 and are currently working on several remixes to be released later on in the year. Faeorin is a jazz-inspired hybrid progressive act. It's cinematic and spiritual, dreamy and mystical and definitely psychedelic. It is their gift to all who care to listen...

DANNI B
http://www.myspace.com/danni_b_tickled

With a lifelong passion for the dance floor and electronic music, Danni B has risen to become one of Melbourne’s fast-rising female DJs.

As a hobbyist spinning tunes in the bedroom from 2003, she first made the transition from the floor to the club decks in 2005 and, after realising that the best way to get a regular gig was to host a night, Danni envisioned ‘Tickled Pink’ - conceived from the fact there was space in the scene for a female DJ night - now one of Melbourne’s highly successful monthly events.

With influences ranging from electro-fuelled textures of Tiefschwarz, to the Techno minded Vitalic, Stephan Bodzin and Thomas Schumacher and pocketed inspiration from the likes of Sasha, Digweed and James Holden, Danni’s sets are never put down to one sound. There’s always room for a mixture of records, which has helped secure residencies and rotations including Pretty Simple @ Ffour, Cairns Winter Solstice Festival, Spunk, Slap @ Lounge, Sunny, Darkbeat, Instinct, Push, Mish Mash, Room680 and onesixone. Danni has also been fortunate enough to play alongside some of her heroes in Christian Smith, Jona, Tiefschwarz, Steve Porter, Yuksek, Paolo Mojo, Hernan Cattaneo and more.

Danni also collaborates with other major promoters, helping her successfully promote not only her institution, but those of others as well, culminating with a cross-promotion for the ‘Roomember’ reunion & Darkbeat parties.

With enthusiasm, a musical breadth close to complete and a presence behind the decks many aspire to, Danni B is one to watch over the many years to come.

Incorporating everything from minimal to electro, tech and progressive sounds all the way through to chill beats and dub into his live and DJ sets, >>>oblique_industries has crafted a sound as much to tantalize the mind as the body, exploring the contrasts between light and dark, loud and soft, BIG and small… whilst delving deep into the spaces in between.

FREDEX

With his own unique style of four-on-the-floor bum movers, FredEx is currently exploring his way through the sounds of Deep Minimal & Melodic Techno, blending influences from a myriad of other electronic styles such as early Psy-trance & Progressive Psy, Tech House, Breaks and Dub. Ever evolving and never abrasive, the intricacy of the music draws the listener in, immersing them in a world of bubbles, bells, white noise and wobbles…

Having planted his feet in Melbourne’s burgeoning live electronica scene very early on, playing solo live Drum and Bass shows to packed Fractured gigs at the old Seven nightclub all the way back in 2002, FredEx has been in the game for a long time. His parents made the mistake of presenting him with a catalogue of electronic music equipment along with the guitar they bought him for his 15th birthday, a matter of months later he put the guitar aside and bought his first synth, soon followed by an Atari computer and a basic sampler - he’s never looked back…

Most of FredEx’s musical successes to date have come about as a result of collaborations with other talented musicians, most notably his core role in the still active Live Drum & Bass outfit K-Oscillate. Having performed well over 300 shows nation wide with them over the 2002-2006 periods, his focus shifted towards his current live Psy-Dub collaborative with Yuval Shalit, Lubdub.

MY FRIEND SAMUEL
http://www.myspace.com/myfriendsamuel

Since being hooked on British Big Beat and Jungle at the early age of ten, Sam Spiers (ie My Friend Samuel) has been dabbling in electronic sounds for the greater part of his life. As his musical knowledge expanded, and his desire to share quality sounds increased, he began experimenting with mixing them together.

Shying away from more commercial sounds, he has a penchant for the deep, the weird and the warm end of the spectrum. Covering a range of sounds - from dubby, psychedelic disco to grooving, textured techno, and everything in between - his goal is to have people bounce, float and bob around the dance floor, just as he has bounced, floated and bobbed to countless other peoples' sounds... it's his way of giving back to the community

EMILIANO ENA

Born and bred in Rome, Italy - From a very young age, his influences came from such bands as Depeche Mode, Joy Division & New Order and the masters Ennio Morricone and Giorgio Moroder that allowed him to discover and keep his eclecticism by opening up to anything experimental.

His passion for music led him to spin records playing with the well respected Blueroom crew in Rome, and other underground parties, and naturally his desire to play his own sounds pushed him into producing his own tracks.

His music can be best described as a warm organic melodic sound with joyful and "ethno mixed electronica" beats.
Having recently played around warehouse party circuit, his sets have been well received and we are Ostara are looking forward to having him perform at Ostara Festival 2009.

This will be Emiliano’s first outdoor festival here in Australia.

Composer, dreamer, artist at heart, all sounds carefully crafted lovingly for the benefit of all. Happily found most days making pretzels of herself and others, or deep in the concepts of amplified art and spirit things.

A little bit of an update
Lady Erika wrote:Hi kids,

Stay tuned for a special Ostara Festival launch party to take place August 29th.

We'll soon be releasing details but for now, this is just a note to keep in your social calander's!!!

More info in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we still have early bird tickets available at $45 each via http://www.greentix.com.au or selected outlets (Happy High Herbs (St Kilda & Collingwood) & Ministry of Style (Brunswick St, Fitzroy)

Happy days!
Lady Erika again wrote:It's all rather crazy here at Ostara's HQ. At this stage, we have our draft line up drawn up and approaching our artists, meaning that this week we'll be releasing 1st round announcements so stand by.

We're pushing the boundaries even further with the selection of music we'll have during the weekend of Ostara. We're just taking it up a notch and we have some exciting acts teed up and can't wait to share these with you.

Just to give you a little insight as to what is planned for this year - there will be TWO stages running - yes ........ TWO with around 60 bands and DJs/Producers performing throughout the course of the Ostara weekend.

Will it all be outdoors this year? - YES!!!

So that's all I'm going to share with you for now

Just hang in there. It'll be worth the wait!

Enjoy your week boys and girls!!!

Much love from all of us at Ostara xxx
And also Erika wrote: Well, the ladies - Kylie Bush and Louise Gilmore and me included popped over to Sokil yesterday to do a walkaround the site with Ray, the property manager, to map out the site plan and to discuss some logistics. The ideas that flowed all day yesterday are ...... just ...... MAGICAL. Have to say, that even Ray had an input as to how we should lay out the stages, decor etc.

Ideas are flowing also regarding some sound installations around the site (yet to be confirmed) and some projections around the sight also. I'm visualising an amazing event. We're stepping it up a notch as well and hopefully with the people I'm talking to who are going to contribute to the event this year will add to the magic of the Ostara weekend.

We, here at Ostara, are being incredibly anal with our line up and plans for the weekend. So apologies for the delay in releasing news to you but getting close anyways. We have some pretty amazing live acts that will be performing this year. One in particular (not DJ), their music just moves you. For most of us here at Ostara who have had a listen, have had the same affect - their music sends tingles up and down your spine and at one point, I almost cried it was that beautiful.

So, back to my little team now and we work through some more "stuff".

Touch base soon.

INTRODUCING ............................

Image

ALLAN CAMPBELL BAND

A detachable robot with a very loud sword. And not as lions, but more like tigers. With the ability to throw music around like a hammer at a hammer throw..Like a large, butch lady who can throw some weight! 3 meat and veg!!! Not the other way around! A chameleon formed out of dirt in Geelong 2003 and since. Where's the corn Kernal? Where's your hanky Cheif? Come and watch us eat.

Sound like: 3-piece saucepan set rock submerged in the sludge of a backyard swimming pool used as a crock enclosure. With butter in a freezer that is unplugged in the arctic ocean during summer on a pole which rises two meters from the waters surface..mov but only on thursday.

DUB THE MAGIC DRAGON

Dub the Magic Dragon are a combination of Eastern and Western music with a multicultural lineup that creates an orgasmic listening experience. The focal point of Sitar leads the tantric sound of Dub/DrumnBass to produce a moveable, hypnotic and sexy sound!

Since the bands creation only a few short years ago, the Melbourne 4 piece has grown into a groove machine described as “The best drum and bass going down but all played on live instruments!”

Dave Beynon from PBS; “This is really, really good stuff! You should check it out!”

BRACE YOURSELVES!!! THERE'S A WHOLE LOTTA LOVIN' COMIN' YOUR WAY. ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENTS COMING THICK AND FAST!!!

After the mad scientists realized the true nature of the monsters they had created they tried to destroy the foul creatures they had spawned but were overwhelmed by the sonic insanity and bled to death from their ears. To this day the location of Eli and Jess is unknown, but their presence on the internet is evidence that the world is still not safe from the global menace lurking around the corner.

AND ANOTHER!

GREAT PLEASURE IN ANNOUNCING ................

Image

http://www.myspace.com/themolluskband
http://www.omelette.net.au/artist/the_mollusk

We have some further announcements coming your way - more artists to be announced so stand by but also do's n don'ts, directions, what to bring (the important bit) etc. It's edging closer now so we would like you guys to be fully prepared so you can make the most out of the Ostara weekend.

It would also be appreciated that once you get these notifications that you pass on to your friends and their friends etc. As most of us know, Sokil Eco Arts Retreat is a sensitive site environmentally and spiritually but also the surrounding areas are homes to a lot of the locals, most with young children, so out of respect for them, please be mindful of litter, driving etc. This will all be noted via online in the coming weeks.

Thanks for reading!

At the age of seventeen he started his career as a bedroom DJ, practicing quite often and playing in home made Mexican doof parties in his home city of Monterrey, Mexico. By 2007, Braulio was a resident DJ at Café Iguana a massive trance club that opened the door to his professional career as a DJ.

Healing Space

REIKI with Sharron Jackson
Saturday 9-11am & 1-3pm

Image

"Hello sisters and brothers,
Welcome to Ostara :-) My name is Sharon & I am formally known as a Reiki Therapist, which I first consciously attuned to in 1997 during a Reiki 1 workshop with my amazing Reiki master, Colin Shooter. The subsequent 5yrs saw me complete Reiki 2 & become qualified as a Reiki Master/Teacher. During this time I also took on informal 'lessons' with a well known & well respected medicine woman, Raven, and a now dear friend of mine, Scott Alexander King and his wife.
Raven, Scott & Trudy (Scott's beautiful wife) helped me become more familiar & in tune with 'Animal Dreaming' & ancient Native American Indian customs, including sacred tobacco pipe prayers, sweatlodge & moonlodge, amongst others & also how to truly 'see' in a way I'd always known, but was not always confident to trust.
I cannot say what will come of our time together at Ostara, for that is still in the making, but please do come along & join in this amazing energy & love that we are creating, now in this very moment... X"

Thank you sister Sharron for being a part of the healing space. Such a wealth of knowledge and experience....we are very fortunate to have you on board!

Healing Space

Crystal Healing with Rebecca Hughes
Saturday 1-5pm

Image
Rebecca Hughes from Emerge: Healing and Transformation

"Rebecca’s wonder and curiosity of the natural world, passion for evolution and deep sense of a magical existence have lead her to practice as a healer. She is pleased, honoured and inspired to offer the ancient art of laying on the stones (crystal healing) at the the spring equinox celebration 'Ostara'.

Crystals have held the same physical form for thousands of years. Their atomic arrangement and structures present the most perfect geometric shapes we have witnessed in nature. These attributes produce a very stable state of resonance and harmony. When crystals come into the body’s energy field, the subtle energies they transmit are absorbed and assimilated into the body, helping us exist in a state harmony and equilibrium. Our natural state of being.

Join Rebecca for a healing with these gifts from mother earth. To release, heal or activate whatever is in our own highest good and the highest good of life everywhere…

Namaste"

Thanks Rebecca for bringing your beautiful energy to Ostara. Rebecca is also able to offer massage by request.

All modalities offered at Ostara this year will be collecting 50% of their donations to put towards the fundraising....so please come and support the beautiful gifted people that are offering their services for the good of all.

Healing Space Intent

This year, the Ostara healing space will carry the focus, energy and intent of the 3rd eye, brow or Ajna chakra.
Bringing awareness into seeking and seeing only the truth, peace, insight, integration, thought/mindfulness, knowledge, pattern recognition, discernment, and bringing about a balance and union between heart and mind.
The intent of this is to ultimately activate and facilitate the return into the mind of light.
With this as our focus, the space will be utilising the colour of indigo and will house a amethyst crystal mesa honoring goddess Ostara.

What is a mesa?
"Mesa" means table in Spanish....so used in this formation, a mesa is also considered an alter to place objects of worship and divination, and to place offerings to the objects of worship. There are many beliefs surrounding forms of worship, and it is fundamentally believed that by placing offerings on a mesa, will place you in the favor of the "Gods/Goddesses", according to what aspect of life they represent.
Image
Goddess Ostara, the maiden in German mythology, celebrated when night and day are equal and balanced (the spring equinox for the northern hemisphere). She is also known as Eostre. She is the Goddess of fertility and new beginnings, so we take this opportunity to embrace Ostara passion for new life and let our own lives take the new direction we have wanted for so long.
All are welcome to contribute offerings the mesa, or to place your own amethyst crystals for cleansing & charging. Just remember to pick up your crystals before you leave ;)

WE WELCOME BACK THESE TWO AWESOME AND VERY TALENTED BOYS WITH NEW MATERIAL FOR OSTARA THIS YEAR!!!

EDITOR
http://www.myspace.com/editordubstep

FLIPPO
http://www.myspace.com/musicflippo

REIKI with Sharron Jackson
Saturday 9-11am & 1-3pm

Didgeridoo & Intuitive Healing
by Doug Fox

Picking up his first Didgeridoo in 2002, Doug has had a diverse range of contact with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Didgeridoo culture from across the globe. All aspects inclusive, the main focus of his skill is about bridging the gap between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous culture’s and nurturing each others knowledge to form a synergistic pattern for a bright future of abundance, friendship and community. “I feel we have a lot to learn from the ancients and the Didgeridoo can be a direct link to that knowledge, spirit and healing energies.”

“This multidimensional instrument is played and used in many ways by people from all walks of life, and it’s crafting and playing has been taken down to an intricate science with today’s modern innovative methods and technologies, but one common thing remains in all enthusiasts, and that is a deep respect and acknowledgment of the sacred, mysterious and powerful nature of this wonderful ally, I look forward to sharing this with you.”

Doug’s main interest with the Didgeridoo remains personal and its use Meditative, but he has branched out and shared what he knows with audiences such as primary and high school students, tourist groups, musical audiences and meditation groups as well as undertaking private lessons from time to time. He has had rare contact with Yolgnu custodians and other branches of Indigenous Didgeridoo culture and his playing style reflects this.

Doug will be available in the healing space between 9am -1pm Saturday for personal sessions, otherwise you will find him roaming around onsite offering his abilities wherever they are needed.

This year, the Ostara healing space will explode with colour, nature, beauty and all things nurturing, within the warmth of an indoor sanctuary....making it a place where people can come and be inspired, activated, healed and empowered within the comforts of a heated zone.

As a result of past efforts, more work and energy is being focused into the healing aspect of this festival, and as a collective, the Ostara crew are taking steps to bring these aspects forward as a conscious inclusion within the structure and layout of the whole festival.

Image

As the overall focus and intent, each area is represented by one of the chakras in the form of colour, visuals, education and vibrational attunement.
What is a Chakra? Sanskrit meaning for "spinning wheel" ....are energy vortexes that eminate out from the physical body through the etheric bodies and are locations in which we transmit & receive energies. Chakras effect and are connect to all aspects of self - mind, body, spirit, emotion.

So far we have revealed that the Healing Space is the Ajna or 3rd eye space, arranged with the colour indigo and hosting the amethyst mesa honoring goddess Ostara.

As we edge closer to the opening of the festival gates...each one of these spaces will be revealed to you... providing the opportunity to delve into an exciting journey of self growth and discovery as you move through these spaces with awareness and mindfulness.
This journey is about reconnecting to the self and acts as a reminder that it is here where you connect to the whole....and while you experience each moment, at all times you are nurtured and supported by Mother Earth....the physical plane in which we gather, celebrate and rejoice in our existence. It is through this celebration that we also give thanks and nurturing to her...and take each step with peace in our hearts, lightness in our mind, and love in the cushions of air under our feet.
With the grace of a dove and the strength of an eagle, we turn our faces to the returning sun and allow the inner illumination of being flood our whole existence.
This is the magic of Ostara.....

We look forward to journeying with you all....

Peace, love & blessings...

Reconnective Healing with Brett Birkett
Saturday 12-2pm & 4-6pm

Brett is a Level 3 Reconnective Healing Practitioner, which allows him to facilitate healing sessions with the new 333 healing frequency that has entered our Earth in the past few decades. The Reconnective Healing energy heals the human heart, reconnects you to the depth of your true essence, to deep inner peace and expanded awareness, a consciousness, out of which true healing on all levels, can occur, as we are brought back to balance. The Reconnective Healing® Spectrum expands into Light and Information, reconnects your DNA strands and restores you to your original state, and more: it puts you onto your evolutionary path and supports you to be in tune with the raising planetary energies, while preparing you for the major planetary shift in the near future.

Brett can also facilitate axiatonal alignments, as detailed in Key 317 in The Book of Knowledge, Keys of Enoch. Axiatonal alignments are a profound once in a lifetime changing experience, performed by reconnecting your bodies meridian lines to the much larger grid lines that encircle our planet. Bringing in and activating these new lines, allows for the exchange of much more light and information, the reconnection of DNA strands and the reintegration of “strings’ (simultaneously occurring on parallel planes of existence). Ultimately, this will help you to accelerate your life path and help you with your life purpose and spiritual growth.

Bretts journey began while working in corporate, where he began to experience profound visions, started hearing his Inner Teacher, and was blessed with numerous spiritual awakening experiences that launched him into the discovery of his true life path. Beginning with his kundalini awakening in 2007, Brett was spiralled deeply down the rabbit hole of Truth discovery through a rapid acceleration of spiritual growth, countless synchronicities and enlightening experiences.
Previous life experiences and soul records began to open up, and through regular daily meditation Brett started to open his inner vision and remember skills and abilities from previous lives. Some of these include natural healing skills, transmutation channelling, and working with sound through energy channelling which he learned during Atlantis.

At this years Ostara festival…as previously mentioned we will be honoring the Goddess in 3 forms, at 3 locations, with 3 mesas.
Already it has been revealed that Ostara herself will be held in the healing space on an amethyst crystal mesa.
The next goddess to be revealed is….da na na NAAAA…

...TARA…

Image

The goddess Tara has many different traditions. She is a Hindu symbol of eternal light and love, a Buddhist goddess of compassion teaching the wisdom of non-attachment, and a Tibetan goddess of love.

Born from her mother's single tear-drop of compassion for humanity's suffering, Tara's essential energy is that of answering human pleas for assistance.
With her third eye, and eyes in each hand and foot, Tara sees beyond the mortal veil into eternity, gently reminding us that all things pass, and each moment is perfect. Open your eyes to the Now, says Tara, and be at peace.
The different aspects of Tara promise health and long life engendering growth and prosperity. Other guises foster healing and courage through adversity and suffering. Yet Tara's core attribute is that of compassion - she will not turn anyone away but will reach for them, embrace them, and instill them with a sense of profound love and peace!

Tara will be located at the chapel space on a Rose Quartz mesa……also represented by the heart chakra and the colour green.
This space will also be an acoustic chill space open for spontaneous jam sessions and workshops throughout the weekend.

Image

The heart chakra, otherwise known as Anahata....
Associated gland: Thymus
Location: centre of the chest
Type of force: Life Force
Astrological ruler: Neptune/Venus
Colour: Green
Element: Air
Metal: Copper
Verb: “I Love"
Activities: Nature walks, time spent with family or friends. Consuming green food & drink. Using green oils such as eucalyptus or pine essential oils. Giving a loving massage, writing a heartfelt letter.
Animal: Antelope, Birds, especially the dove

Submerge yourself and open into the space of the heart. Regenerate into a place of balance and integration between the world of matter (the lower three chakras) with the world of spirit (the upper three chakras). Through the heart chakra, we open to and connect with harmony and peace. The health of our heart center registers the quality and power of love in our life. It is associated with virtuous emotions, such as joy, happiness, honesty, respect, compassion, understanding, and generosity, and with loving oneself in a sincere, non-egotistic way.
It is through our heart that we connect with ourselves, those arround us, and with the higer consciousness of self/all that is.
I sincerely give thanks to my dear sister & brother, Cassandra Thornburn & Ian Duggan for being a part of creating this space into what will be the beauty of love manifest.
I love you guys!!
