cdj2000 + pacemaker ftw
the ability to save and transport cue and loop points between both units will be a great feature

looks kinda scary at first glimpse but is pretty simple interface... beautiful lcd, I wonder how long mk2 will take..

looking forward to having a play on them when they land.

sorry didnt really watch the video, how does the little interface on the pacemaker improve the big interface on the cdj2000?

why do they need laptops if you can save all your music innit? surely the display on a laptop is better than a 6inch lcd...

Looks okay, nothing mindblowing about it to me though... personally I don't know why they didn't ditch the CDJ line completely after the 1000MK3 and focus on a Pioneer UDJ-1000, ie. a CDJ-1000 except no CD, just a few USB ports.

okay to all the sarcastic genius' out there...

what would YOU like to see on the CDJ 2000 mk2?

you say its nothing special etc etc

what is it missing that you deem necessary on a cd player/midi controller?

what do you consider unnecessary?

ohhh, now that does sound exciting Al. Does it come with DnB version so the dancers are wearing hoodies and baggy jeans with boys boxers riding up?

Farrrkkkk... they look amazing...

The ability to control all major virtual DJ software, the Pioneer LAN connection, huge digital media format compatibility and the new Pacemaker support are all very sweet features IMO.

if they get installed in clubs, all you need to bring to a gig is an 8GB USB and a set of headies.

or even better, a pimped out 120GB Pacemaker- all tunes preloaded with cue points, and the availability to record your set.

The cdj400's save cue points to your mem stick already so I'm assuming these ones would. You would need a high speed usb stick though cause the response time on standard ones suck compared to cds.

By high speed do you just mean hi speed (USB2)?

I'm not even sure you could get USB1 sticks anymore!

sure, but some shit thumbdrives only do usb1 throughput, even if they have a usb2 interface on them.

For real?

I suppose there are a lot of dodgy rebranded USB sticks out there.

sure. flash isn't inherently fast, and cheap flash is really fucking slow. it's a complete gamble as to whether you get a good one or not. most decent ones will advertise their throughput on the packaging though.

good question :) similarly, it's usually not worth bothering with the most expensive memory card in the world, because most cameras can't actually read that fast at all. (hell, most of them don't even have dma, which means they're completely bound by the speed of their usually-hella-slow cpu.)

Most new dSLR cameras are DMA. Some even write fast, like 40MB+/s. But really, for CDJ2000 I'd just buy some legit Corsair or Sandisk USB jiggers.
