Most Frequented Venues

Post by DBoy »

Not at the present but over the span of the last 5 years or longer...

For example.

Max: my pub. I go, it is there and will always be as shit as the first time.

E55: Over 5 or more years I have been a lot, more I presume than any other city drinking hole.

Blue Bar: Spent some time there.

Revolver: Over the years has been consistent with having gigs, so I think it hits the top 5 places I have been over the past 5 years, in terms of number of times I have been.

6 Links: Free pool, what else can I say.

Brown Alley: Well over the past 12 months anyway has been frequented a lot.

Over the past 5 years:

INTERNATIONAL / LAUNDRY / BROWN ALLEY:
Mainly due to Beats Working and Prime Mover.... o' the old days, where for art thou now! The 'Nash' was the bomb beat from Bombay! ooowwwwww!!!!

SEVEN NIGHTCLUB:
Fractured days of old

PRINCE OF WALES / Hi-Fi:
For gigs. Love the POW especially.

RACECOURSE HOTEL / ZAGAMIES:
My locals. Beers, pool - that's about it.... shithouse pubs, but I don't drink and drive - so my choice is rather limited for a good draught beer.

Locals: The Retreat, Brunny Green, Black Cat. Used to hit the Comfy Chair and Black Pearl heaps too.

Bars: Troika pre a night out was a fave. Also The 9th Ward (I think that's what it was called)

Pubs: Many a gig seen at the Corner Hotel. More recently been to the Prince more becoz now go to more electronic gigs than rock.

Spent soooo much time at Brown Alley in the past two years. Before that, it was the Laundry I went to the most, regularly. And Lounge- lotta time spent at Lounge

Black Cat :: used to be there most nights when something else wasn't on

Republika :: Used to go most weekends a year or so ago.

Eveyln :: Red Eyes on Tuesdays -> Tangent on Tuesdays

All times gone by now.

Workshop is the new up and comer

Spose I've spent a bit @ Brown Alley. And Prince too when Prince was in fashion

Used to be Lounge, Laundry (when Flago, Brand, BW, Thayer, Hound and me used to play there), Bimbo Deluxe (when it was Cut Copy, 86, me, Boogs etc), Terminus (when I lived in Richmond). These were places I practically lived at EVERY week.

Now I really don't know ... GB in Richmond but not anymore ... Honkytonks but on a weeknight usually ... Lounge a bit. My couch.

local: The Harp (thats so fucking sad but its just up the road and good for beer and pool in the middle of the day or a 1am.

others: Lounge, POW, hi-fi

I'm not too much of a fan of bars etc. I find it to loud and crowded to socialise. I prefer good food, wine, beer and mates at someone place.

Seven = also fractured days of old. happy, happy days.

Brown Alley = Past 1.5 years for Sunny, Frac, Gimme etc

Spreadeagle = Richmond pub where I am most at home. Many winter meals had, many pots drunk, many laughs laughed.

Black Cat = Much more recent, but right around cnr from me now, Thurs night is always good to hang with the kids, but also good other times

the London (Richmond) = lost its soul on weekends after the renovations, but during week still is roughly what it used to be. plus its a place where everyone knows my name, and me theirs. Nice

Revolver = Revolver. Revolver. Revolver. What to say. Many memories. Many times not remembered. Many random chats had. Many freaky occurences witnessed. Clothing lost, other items found ( ) then lost again. Not always good times, but always very unique and very melbourne times.

Two Floors Up = Old Private Function days. Was one of the best most intimate partys I have ever gone to frequently. Much fun. Small venue full of friends where you could get your prog on.

For real? You frequent these dives too?

Well Zagamies is alright - nice joint really. But the Racie has gone to shit now that they've installed pokies in the restaurant and a friggin' TAB in the public bar.

I hate what pokies have done to pub's - I really do!

Of course, for me it was Lounge and ScuBar back in the day.

But now it's easily Bunker, followed by Bar Open (still my favourite live venue).

Scripticocus. Used to dine there for breaky after the hard ass nights out. Especially handy if one of those nights out is Revolting.

Yeps- Amplifier, The Church in Northbridge and the Leederville on Wed nights- totally off tap rave parties which would inevitably lead me to have Thursdays off the entire time I was living there

Laundry ruled my life for 2 years (monthlies, weeklies, graphic design). Loved that place like no other. Sucks it went to shit!

First Floor was happening for a while, but I haven't been there in almost a year now.

I still love the Corner Hotel as a live venue; the Evelyn's cool, too.

Always have fun at Revolver, but haven't really been there for the awesome Thai food in too long.

The Terminus when Adam was bartending was definitely a great place to hang...but that's probably the free alcohol talking.

This city has so many kick-butt venues!
