I think the 23 P of a C in the HB is something to do with Christ and the Bible, but I can't think what.

30/ 9 provences in South Africa

33/ 15 Men on a dead mans chest

and my guess is HB stands for human body

a mate of mine has all these mensa quiz books (for some reason). I was flciking through one of them once and it has the most random problems.
example 1.

a guy goes into a shop and asks for a can of peaches. the shop keeper turns around and grabs a tin off the shelf. he gives it to the customer who says "i asked for peaches, not dogfood". *insert more dialogue*. customer opens can which contains dogfood. how did the customer know it was dogfood? the answer was that he gained access the night before, steamed off the label from a tin of peaches and glued it onto the can of dogfood.........

there was another whereby a jewish kid tries to by icecream from a vendor. basically the vendor wouldn't sell it to the kid because he was jewish. turns out the vendor is jewish too. why would he refuse to sell ice cream to a jew? the icecream was "terrible"......

if you could pick the answer, you'd definately be a genius, or perhaps on whatever planet the rest of mensa are on....

Sounds like a conundrum to me.

Like:

A man rides to town on Saturday, stays two nights, and then rides home on Wednesday. How does this happen? (and yes he definitely stays two nights!!)

It expects you to think outside the box. The answer to the above is that the guys horse is named Saturday.

Here's another one...

A man is found dead, hanging from the rafters of a room. There are only four things in the room: a hook hanging from the ceiling, a rope attached to the hook, a man hanging from the rope and water on the floor. The ceiling is 15 feet high, and the man's feet are 8 feet from the floor. How did the man hang himself?

Good luck - you can only ask questions that can be answered with yes or no

he was standing on a block of ice.

lateral thinking is great fun, but the mensa ones were just totally absurd. Normally you are given enough information in the problem to come to a logical conclusion. it seems to me that if you are dodgy enough to sell shit icecream, you wouldn't care who you sold it to.
