For $400 you seriously cannot go wrong. The other beautiful thing is that the major publishers have actually decided to band together behind Nintendo for this launch... something which has been lacking in the last few consoles the company has released.

The 3rd party support is why wii will be successfull whereas gamecube failed.. A kickass system from a brilliant company, but with the support of pretty much every 3rd party company out there. Game on.
For me personally, the new Zelda jusifies the price tag alone.

You dissed Halo and said you liked Zelda in the same sentence! My head is going to asplode.
Zelda is for girlymen. That having been said the next one looks mildly amusing.

well halo is for people who enjoy killing and most likely simulates a similar experience to war. yay. more wars. so if you're a guy and play halo does that mean that you're a "man"?mecka wrote:o...m....f...g.cha_chaos wrote:meh... id do it for zelda... /maybe/

no, the games that you play do not determine whether you are a "girlyman" or tom boy for that matter. or anything actually, theyre just games and i happen to like fantasy more that future combat seen as it seems that most of the combat is true, and i dont think that more is needed.
since its "mildly amusing" does that mean that you're becoming a girly man? or that it has finally reached an approving level for you
that was a bit of a roll

thankyou for your learned advice. I will make some enquiries later this week.... I hope your right and that wild chance becomes a reality for me.Hardy wrote:deviant wrote:where can you order these bad boys from?
Perhaps you could try a video game store? Sounds crazy, i know, but there's a wild chance they could do it.

From the video's i've seen of the Wii in action, the motion sensor remote looks really fucking cool. Playing zelda and actually having to 'hack n slash' would be awesome. That said though it would be interesting to have a go with it first and see if it really is as responsive and ground-breakingly ace as it looks in the demo's. Knowing nintendo though, It'll most likely be next level bidness. I wants one!
Also the other remote thing with the control stick on it is called the 'nunchuk.' Totally rad.

Actually my interest in Halo is a little deeper than satisfying a base "male" need to kill. I'm more interested in the combination of gameplay elements that makes it a successful, fun game.cha_chaos wrote: well halo is for people who enjoy killing and most likely simulates a similar experience to war. yay. more wars. so if you're a guy and play halo does that mean that you're a "man"?

Halo came along at a point where the FPS genre was sorely lacking on consoles. It proved that a) you could utilise the xbox controller in a straightforward, well thought out manner and b) that creative game design was alive and well in the world of consoles. Halo 2 built on the successful formula started by the first game and good marketing allowed it to take $125 million in the first 24 hours of release.
As for the girlyman tag... thats an old in-joke between me and Hardy. What I meant when I said "amusing" is that it looks a hell of a lot appealing to me than the previous Zelda games, and I'm even contemplating picking up a copy for myself at release.
