It would be nice if they just made some decent software but still - competition between the them and google will see some pretty rad applications developed.
I checked out photosynth a while back - incredibly handy technology
Great photos too, keep em coming.

Today...
This outlet pumped liquid mercury, pesticides and herbicides into an undisclosed location near the CBD until just recently. The orange stuff used to be wood and concrete. It is now a carcinogenic layer of crud.
We managed to catch a starfish while we were fishing for mercury, cereclor, DDD, DDE and DDT.

I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

will that star fish be ok or will that have poisoned it
Those starfish are feral. They were introduced in ship ballast water a decade ago and are destroying the remnant native estuarine/marine biota in the area. I saw about 6-7 per square meter. They are doing just fine

Pre-sunrise on-site
Seagulls flying away from the boat.
West Gate Bridge.
Edit: I think I am going to crop the seagulls so that it is just them in the clouds without industrial Melbs in the background.
I have a major bird obsession.

No, you give a shit about other organisms. That is an admirable quality, and one that is lacking in many peopleFriday wrote:flippo wrote:ahahahahahahaha!Friday wrote:woah. crazy pics cia!

Where was that top pic taken D? Off Russell St?
And I think it's Russell near the State Libuary...I took it when me, Dad and my brothers finished playing some ten pin bowling yesturday, that Strike at QV.
CIA Sabella is apparently everywhere, I haven't seen alot of it though to be honest. I think I get a squeed view of what most of the bay is like, working mostly in the least fucked areas.
Asterias is creeping down south though, we found some at grassy point last year. (They were euthanased immediatley, Lizkins, left to dry out in teh sun painfully, I mock the lower taxa ).
Last time I went on the anual trawl survey it was really sad seeing how fucked the Asteris situation is. You'd hit regions where fucking tonnes of stars came up, no fish. We were trying to keep them onboard to take to the tip, but a) we didn't have enough room on the trawler there was that many of them and b) would have been pathetically futule anyway. (you can see why I found your comment funny Friday!)
also in other news, dusky flahead stocks are probably colapsing, and post-release stress physiology studies on the gummies from last week gave 70% mortality rate in 24 hours .
farking.
Also all these fucking tropical fish are turning up! something Random is going on with currents and water temperature. Dolphin fish are being off temperate ports, also random tropical reef fish just being caught of south-east coast, and a fucking Marlin came into Port Phillip ffs
big tings a gwan in teh sea
