At least they're offering full refunds with booking fees.

Just get your money back, do something else.

Big festivals suck balls anyway IMO.

agree with it being a buisness shep, but it IS funnyish/ironic for those of us who would prefer to see said acts in environments that do them justice..

and tbh, quite a few of the bigger promoters in town have egg on their faces at this point, for one reason or another.....

It seems like everyone who is pissed off in this thread hadn't even bought a ticket yet!

Yes you are to blame.
so all other promoters should cancel/merge any gigs that they dont sell enough pre sales to? some people do it for the music and loose money and not do it for the business to make money, seasoned veteran like you i would of thought you know this.

Tell that to the boys like BBA who have lost heaps over the years because people sometimes dont go to gigs, shows still go on regardless.
Future are a business.. they do it for money. If you think otherwise you are very naive.
This is a million dollar event.. not a few thousand, there is a bit more at risk here.
This wouldn't have happened last year, but then the economy is in a different place.

I should have said "partly" to blame above tbh.

All I'm saying is that it's likely this wouldn't have happened if people who were planning on going had already purchased tickets.
Would you buy presale tickets to a festival with a forever changing lineup? I wouldn't. Future are the only people to blame here.

future had nothing to do with 'we love' mrj

side note: is anyone else over the excuse of the 'economic downturn' as the reason for everything going bad ... there's a chance maybe the lineup wasn't what people wanted, economic downturn or not. .. same with all the firings at the moment, incompetent businesses blaming external economic factors for their own mistakes.

Yes and no. I think it's a legitimate reason for many businesses. It's very hard to protect against. It's certainly not as bad as the media makes it out to be, but I have seen first hand the effect it has had on businesses and individuals.

Adelaide 28 December

Summer Break

Public Enemy, Aquasky, D-Bridge & Jenna G, Noisa, Chase & Status

oh, and Midnight fuckanauts, Adam Pissland, and the Dude from Neighbours Karl Kennedy... but they're shit anyway.

tickets are $85

Set times have no stupid clashes like Future does all the fucking lame arse time.

And smoking is cheaper in Adelaide too ;)

Do I get on MBs and talk about the ache in my little toe?

No, because like Benga, Skream and Sub Focus, IT'S BORING!

:teef:

Yeah, this promoter is tops. Adelaide sound guys crap all over anything Melbourne can do. This is not pride speaking - Adelaide's a shithole usually - but music wise they generally do really, really well. I think it's because there's so many sound guys but so little to do, comparatively.

This is from the promoter on Adelaide Massive:
-Massive main stage with redbull wigwams for shade
-Enclosed disco marquee arena with the house/electro/indie
-Breakbeat stage with a tree shaded dance floor and a hill at the back for relaxing on.
-Totally shaded vip area complete with full cocktail bar, beanbags etc etc.

There will also be sideshow stalls, temporary tattoo stand, first aid with free sunblock, a nacho stand, baked potato stand, wicked pizza bar, red bull bar, yiros bar, sno cone bar + ice pack bar.

You could go swimming in the Torrens trickle *ahem* river, but you will most likely contract some kind of waterborne nasty, and probably die.

Also, on NYE in Adelaide, Mr Scruff will be playing a 6 hour set.

This is the first time in 10 years I wish I was in Adelaide for New Years Eve.

Anyone got set times for this after party? - we are - attempting the tricky double of Espy for Public Enemy and Rozannes for Chase and Status. Has degree of difficulty of 7.5 - but could be made less fraught if set times were known - anyone with clues???
