Venue for a 30th?

Post by quick »

Anyone know of a sweet venue that would suit a private party for up to 100 people or maybe more, needs area for dj and sound and either bar or byo. Everything I can think of is too small....

seeing as Friddles was useless :teef: anyone suggest a good venue in the city or near abouts? I have a few leads, but nothing perfect, so any suggestions would be awesome...

Dude... they've got this bowling alley in Sth Yarra that runs at night. It has a bar. And it has flouro lights and stuff. And get this, they even have Dee Jay's there on weekends!

Hire some lanes and get amongst it!

Public Office used to be remarkabley cheap to hire didn't it? Although I think those days may have passed

Suede on Smith St will let you hire the upstairs bit. Prolly too small for 100 people tho.

Ummm......Dunno, there should be heaps of places tho.

Radio on Gertrude St always seems pretty empty. If you said you were bringing 100 people i reckon theyd close it for you for the night. Does it fit 100? no idea.

I had a mate who booked 1 Fitzroy St, St. Kilda... for nothing!

Views of St. Kilda, the Bay etc, just a $300 deposit down - which was 100% refunded. Complete bar, private room and I'm sure you could set decks up there.

How long ago was that?

Went there for dinner at xmas when my mum was down and they were useless as dogs balls.
Was highly unimpressed with having to ASK for a wine bucket for my white wine and then secondly watching them sit our wine bucket with our wine on a different, but empty, table away from us argh!

They just did not seem very interested in us being there and there was like 7 of us. They screwed our booking up, I repeated on the phone about half a dozen times the day time and name and they still screwed it up.
The fridge is angry, the cheese told me so.

Watch out for the penguins, they are comming

you made it to 30, YAY!!

hey don't we have the same bday? :binky:
so am i invited? (please) :angel12:
just kidding

um venues eh? food wise have you been to palookaville on brunny st?
it's amazing food for no more than $10
and found this http://www.sealeggs.com.au/function_ven ... ourne.html

swanky cocktails wise what about polly?
http://pollybar.com.au/index.php?option ... &Itemid=31

they let me hire out the back garden-y bit in that bar next to alia who's name i can't remember years ago for nothing
not sure why but it was cool spot

then theres breweries that let you hire out
mountain goat
http://www.goatbeer.com.au/where-to-goa ... e-brewery/

Redback in Nth Melbourne
http://www.startlocal.com.au/accomodati ... 34342.html

theres the moroccan lounge byo belly dancer
http://www.mofolounge.com.au/function-m ... pAod-mzdWQ

I dunno, what KIND of bday do you want? beer related/food related/rave related/killer clown related? figure that one out and it's easy finding places that suit from there...

La Di Da have a downstairs room that you can hire out (if you can stand La Di Da) with decks + bar, although they kick you out at 11 for the "real DJs" to come on, which is rather annoying if most of your friends are well known Melbourne DJs who are happy to play, LOL.

Maybe they got sick of you repeating yourself and did it to you on purpose?
