So i think i need to revise my previous post about hellenic republic. Went again last night and it was absolutely divine! I think my first experience had a lot to do with the company - my grandmother completely did my head in and makes everything twice as frantic and tense as it needs to be.

Started with the tarama and tzatziki, saganaki with figs (omfg - thanks for the tip gnat!), and spanakopita which was absolutely delicious. Smashed the mousakka and lamb off the spit . Then had to get the custard filled filo - fuck me...savoured every mouthful of the fucker and wished i could have gutsed a whole one (thanks again for the tip gnat). Amazing.

So....my average response last time has been completely reverse. Couldn't fault it really.

we went to simone's in bright on the weekend. absolutely rubbish. reach arounds must be being exchanged for their two hats. thoroughly disappointing..

holidays coming up- reckon a pre holiday trip to cutler and co will tip it off nicely.. start saving!

Was looking at some literature on lead exposure and read this:
some glazed ceramic “Tagines” imported from Morocco, used for or in connection with cooking, storage and consumption of food may contain excessive levels of lead, which may result in the release of lead from the product into the food.
Was released as a bulletin by the Vic Government late last year. Federal Government is trying to introduce a lead leachability test that all imported Tagines can pass.

Hope everyone already knew this and was all over that sh1t, like, last November.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

Love the King Valley. My faves are Pizzini & Dal Zotto. My aunt was telling me about Gracebrook on the weekend. She also like d La Cantina, which I think she said did preservative free wine.

I'll be cycling and bush walking down at the Grampians, with a few days camping too. Never been there so it should be nice.

Best tuna in a can imo, won't touch anything else. Shame it costs $2.24 a can :( Goes fantastic with shredded cabbage and tomato's with some vinegarette.

hellenic republic was mad.

had the taramasolata and baked fetta dip
and vine leaves for starters.

then mains was
red mullet, some sort of baked chicken which my dad got and the egg plant and tomato bake.
with some salad.

dinner was the custard filo pastry, greek donuts and quince with yogurt was awesome.

cost $200 bucks with beers and wine and was sooooooo stuffed afterwards

Went to Isthmus of Kra last night.

AWESOME! We had this:
TOM YUM cooked in a terra-cotta pot with a choice of chicken, prawns or vegetables.

CROQUETTES THAINAMOON Golden patties of compounded mixture of organic soya grits, yam, cashews with tangy kumquat chili puree which is sensibly spiced.

Hot plate grilled corn fed CHICKEN PAI NAI from Bendigo poultry farm marinated with fragrant spices and honey. It is served with green mango/apple kerabu salad.

Thin slivers of Gippsland VENISON PAD HORM wok-singed with Siam queen Thai basil, lots of green and roasted cashews.
