Re: Gripe thread
Just out of interest I found the relevant offence under the legislation:
Transport (Conduct) Regulations 2005
27B Feet on furniture
(1) A person must not, without reasonable excuse,
place his or her feet on any part of a road vehicle
or rail vehicle other than—
(a) the floor; or
(b) a part of vehicle specifically designed for the
placing of feet.
Penalty: 5 penalty units.
(2) A person must not, without reasonable excuse,
place his or her feet on any part of the furniture of
a passenger transport company other than
furniture or a part of furniture specifically
designed for the placing of feet.
Penalty: 5 penalty units.
So on 1) you didn't place your feet on the part of the vehicle, it was in midair, so no offence
On 2) you didn't place your feet on furniture, so no offence...
What did they write on the ticket? I've always thought I'd get them to write extactly my counter argument when they write the ticket, to avoid argument later

Re: Gripe thread
There is also a code of conduct which you can have a go at when contesting:
http://www.doi.vic.gov.au/doi/doielect. ... 20Code.pdf
There is some good stuff in there if people are pissed about the way they issued tickets, like when the machine is faulty or there is a queue. good for contesting
For USB, look at point 26, if they didn't make notes then its easier to challenge
Also point 27 on taking name and address, as it talk about them having a "reasonable belief" for issuing a ticket. If they were at the other end of the train, and you have your legs crosssed, a) they cant actually see for sure you have your foot on the seat at that distance and b) its anatomically pretty uncomfortable to have your leg crossed and ankle resting on your leg, and have your foot on the seat at same time

Re: Gripe thread
we gotta take the power back when it comes to this shit.
the blame trulty lies with the regulator and they should be the first against the wall. they are the ones who are supposed to be providing the oversight and ensuring that authorised officers do not exceed their powers.
we must remember that met-cops have no real power, only that which is delegated to them under the legislation. we must be quick to identify and act where this power is exceeded, as it so often is.

I'm not a fan of either too (GO VILLA) but I like a good old rivalry match.spazz wrote:quick wrote:heh, I watched that here in London with a couple of Liverpool fans, I like Chelsea, was an avg game tho... not worth a 2am waking...Amick wrote:gotd: getting up at 2am to watch Chelsea vs Liverpool and can't get back to sleep. yaaaaarrrrr!

The game was frantic in the first half, Liverpool bombing it deep to no avail and Chelsea missing a few opportunities. Sucks how the second half panned out though.
To watch the Villa game I gotta get up at 6am tomorrow morning, not too sure how keen I am for that.

Re: Gripe thread
City link can go and fuck itself in the bum so hard that its bum splits and then every time it does a poo it hurts coz the split never heals properly and then it has a constant pain in the bum.
Website slow and shit;
Won't let me buy a pass coz i travelled 4 day ago and not i am going to get a late fee; and
Won't let me set up an account (with which i could pay for the trip the other day with coz it generates and invoice at the end of the month) coz my credit card expires at the end of the month and HSBC hasn't sent me a new you one yet (fuck you too HSBC cunts).

city link's bum then?
Re: Gripe thread
I'm happy to assist you with the bum tearing Chris. Every weeknight at 7pm CityLink blocks off 2 lanes of traffic on the inbound roads. The brake lights go as far as the eye can see and I'm going about 4kmph when I hit the beep beep toll areas. What the fuck am I paying for exactly? To sit in unbelievable congestion late at night, that's what. They should cease all tolls during the roadworks so we're not forking out when we're getting anything but a speedier alternative to normal roads.
Only the meek get pinched...the bold survive
Re: Gripe thread
I think the fact that we have to pay tolls at all is d1sgusting. We already get taxed out the arse.

I don't mind paying the tolls if the road does what it is meant to.Hardy wrote:I think the fact that we have to pay tolls at all is d1sgusting. We already get taxed out the arse.
But currently I spend around $1800 p/a ona road that is under constant construction, reduced speed limits and a shithouse surface.
Still the quickest way to work though.

I'm finding watching people try and traverse the newly painted lane lines hilarious since the old lines are still well visible. People's muscle memory take over and they're weaving in and out of lanes galore. With no emergency lanes, I'm surprised it's going as well as it is.
