Good show Apophenian - looked lovely (have seen photos of various peeps on FB - the bin series is A+ excellent.)

GK, every Israeli I know is hilariously blunt/offensive (in the good way.) I'm sure you'll be fine :)
If not, there's always the occupied territories to get the conversation moving :teef:

Whereabouts? I wouldn't fret about the double major thing - they only really say no if it won't work logistically. $10 says you'll choose one over the other once you get into it anyway.

I did double major and no dramas at all. Especially with two complimentary streams like that. Sounds interesting!

BU the BUs!

BU travel plans for the end of the year despite only being home 3 weeks. Indian obsessed tbh!
BU bollywood soundtracks and cleaning frenzies.
BU doing sweet F.A. for longer than expected. Massive downs to still not having an income.
BU reconnecting, slowly but surely.

Ha ha ha ha. I would love to see that!

Apparently, amongst the catholic youth of today, there is a real rise in the "hard-core" approach, so it could be interesting for you.

BU's my boss (what a legend) and my job - love it! After the unbelievable hell I had to put up in my last job I was starting to become convinced it was me causing all the problems and I couldn't expect any better. Finally I see that it was not. And I work for a relaxed, considerate, very likeable human who looks out for me and has my back, instead of backstabbing and undermining me. And I work for a company that actually is doing something good for the world now and then. If you had spoken to me a year ago I wouldn't have thought it possible. Miracles can happen :joy:

Wow, Ely, that's amazing news! Congratulations on taking the leap and it paying off!!! :retzielikes:

It all sounds like a friend of mine in Melbs who put herself through several shades of Hell in corporate law and finally switched to government. We are still waiting for her to hit politics (next female PM tbh,) but it's so nice to see her restored to a human being!

She even said this (possibly with the same words):
elysium wrote:I was starting to become convinced it was me causing all the problems and I couldn't expect any better.
Unfortunately, I think I'm still hovering at this point myself, but the blinkers may have started to slip even just in the past week. One way or another, there are changes ahead...

So happy for you, lady! :dancing:

thanks luvvie :D That is sure interesting to hear about your friend. I have heard the same thing from a lot of people since I spoke out about what was going on. There is a very sick culture in these places that keeps people in their place with fear and silence, and I had had enough. It was was the best decision of my life the day I walked out.

It sounds like you are having a long hard look at your current situation too. I empathise and am sending strength and encouragement your way. In the end the path that lets you be true to yourself is the most compelling.

The only thing I know for certain is this - 2011 is going to be a shitload better than 2010 for a lot of people! Wtf was with 2010 hey?!! Only year I have ever been excited and not nostalgic at 11:59 on 31 December!

Fuck yes. Massive Ups Elly and Retzie :D :D :D

I think that a combination of experience (hello promotions) and life experience (is this it? I worked my ass off to be someone's bitch?) can work in your favour... and when you know how bad it can be, you totally appreciate the awesomeness when it happens.
