ROBERT BABICZ – [Babiczstyle /Systematic, Germany]
With a music career already spanning nearly two decades, comprising four albums and multiple singles, some could think that Robert Babicz would be ready to settle down for a quiet life, however, nothing could be further from the truth. Since his fourth full length dropped in March 2010 on Systematic Recordings along with the founding of his own label, Babiczstyle, Robert Babicz has continued to reveal his talent and skill as one of Europe’s most essential techno producers.
By the turn of the new millennium, Babicz was striving for a different sound and thus began a new label, Shortcut. At the same time, he received multiple requests for sound design from hard and software producers, most notably resulting in the presets he produced for Native Instruments.
Playing ‘live’ has always been a key feature of Babicz’s authentic musicianship; improvising instead of reeling off pre-determined sets has made his celebrated shows unquestionably unique events. He consistently delivers astonishing performances of his own productions built around warm melodies, blissed atmospherics & analogue bass - sometimes jacking, but mostly tripping and always around the foundations of his first love: techno. With the release of Immortal Changes in early 2010, described by DJ Mag as a “marriage of organic groove and glistening electronic melodies” it is clear that Robert Babicz still has much more to give.. Early 2011 will see him release a compilation on his own label, titled Robert Babicz Volume 001

Omar S – [FXHE, Detroit. USA]
Detroit's Omar-S (Alex Omar Smith; aka DJ Snotburger, DJ Snotinburg) emerged in 2003 as an underground techno/house maverick, releasing rigidly funky productions, made with analog gear, on his FXHE label. Though his 12" releases were pressed in small quantities with handwritten labels (and with run-out etchings like "Techno music is my heritage -- techno is not dead DAMN IT!" and "Thanks to Rick Wilhite -- I know I get on your nerves"), it wasn't long before his releases reached specialty shops in the U.K. and Germany. Though he was building a cult following and was often placed by writers within the same context as fellow Detroit natives Moodymann and Theo Parrish, it wasn't until 2009 that he truly strayed from his low-profile, self-sufficient mode. Parrish's Sound Signature label released his "Blown Valvetrane" 12", and shortly after that, Smith provided the 45th mix for London club Fabric's self-named mix series. The majority of Smith's output was released on vinyl, but he also has full-length CD titles to his credit, including 2004's Collaborating (billed as Oasis, co-produced by Smith and the possibly nonexistent Shadow Ray) and 2005's Just Ask the Lonely.

Scuba – [Hotflush Recordings, UK]
Scuba is the production and DJ alias of Paul Rose, the curator of one of the original dubstep labels, Hotflush Recordings, which released some of the most important tracks of the genre's formative period and has grown into a leading player in the wider world of electronic music.
Originally from London, Scuba relocated to Berlin in 2007, a move which (according to some) influenced his critically acclaimed debut album, A Mutual Antipathy (2008). The stylistic synergy of the album cemented his position as one of the most forward-thinking dubstep producers. The project was subsequently completed with a series of remixes by Surgeon, Substance, Jamie Vex'd, Martyn, Marcel Dettmann and the artist himself under his SCB guise.
His second album, Triangulation, was released on Hotflush in March 2010 to universal plaudits, with many reviewers immediately tipping it as a potential album of the year. An amalgamation of disparate styles, from house to experimental drum n bass, the album has been noted as a landmark in the genre-blurring trend of contemporary dance music.
Between album sessions he has been busy remixing artists including Booka Shade, Fever Ray and Will Saul, and developing the SCB project which focuses squarely on house and techno.
In addition to A&R and production duties, he also runs the massively successful SUB:STANCE night at the legendary Berlin club Berghain, the sound of which he committed to plastic in a DJ mix released on Ostgut Ton in early 2010 followed by a barrage of releases that took the world by a storm .
