I reckon it's nothing. Why the fuck are they televising it? Sure, England has reason to be jumpy, but why show live feed of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to Oz?

sound really fucking dodgy though. televised chases and arrests. a bomb not detonated correctly. is anyone else starting to seriously worry about what could happen in the immediate future? before i starting reading the news on it i was stressing about the visuals for the next party. what a terribly reality check.

Police, with weapons drawn, escort a man away from Downing
Street
LONDON (AP) - Police escorted a man away from the Downing
Street residence of Prime Minister Tony Blair on Thursday,
as Blair prepared to make a statement following a series of
explosions on London's transport system.
A police officer near the end of the street drew a firearm
and aimed it at a target beyond the range of television
cameras. Another officer then led away a man whose black
shirt was undone. The man also wore black trousers and
appeared to be of Asian or Middle Eastern origin.

I wish all those motherfuckers would leave London alone! :x
I am constantly schitzing out about my family beign hurt whilst going about their daily business

The TV coverage is just awful, even before there was any info about what was going on, one of the news fucks was fueling hate campaigns with their foolish speculations. Also getting dickhead members of the public to do a "live rant" about their experiences is just market research for terrorists. One fool was going on about a how he thought there was chemicals involved, lets not put ideas into brainwashed idiots heads I say.

Oh for sure - they're fueling it big time. The bombers (since they're not suicide bombers, this time around) more than likely want to see their handywork ... the non-stop TV news is perfect for this. Just like a lot of study indicates that certain types of perps. will revisit the scene of the crime to inspect their handywork etc.

If these same kinda people just wanna see how they can affect society in general, what a good way of doing it (especially with the hype of late).

Yeah news coverage of major events has become the thing I hate most about tv today. "Disaster porn" (horrible yet accurate term I think) is bad enough, but when it's just reportage of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING happening except some panicky bystander reports who may or may not have any clue what they saw, often it's just a third hand account of "oh, somebody told me the heard an explosion or saw smoke" it's beyond ridiculous.

All those children killed in a terrorist attack in Iraq last week did not even merit one tenth of the coverage that this minor incident (as these sorts of things go) in London did. The average muslim is not lying when they talk about how much more western lives are worth compared to middle eastern lives.

confusing coverage. headlines say things like "Blasts Hit 3 London Subway Stations, Bus" but if you read other articles:

"Passengers were evacuated off a bus in Hackney, east London, and police cordoned off streets nearby. The bus company said a blast blew out the windows of the bus but a police officer on the scene said there were no signs of damage."

eh? also this:

"However, it was unclear whether blasts occurred at all four locations. Sir Ian Blair, head of London's Metropolitan Police, said only that "attempts have been made to set off explosive devices"."

"At the moment the casualty numbers appear to be very low."

very low? like zero?

i've been watching this shit all night and there's been a lot of yelling and running around and brandishing of police rifles but no listed deaths from ANY of the sources i've been watching, not even the sensationalist ones like SKY and FOX

apparently the dude's attempt misfired with chemical components of the bomb triggering at the wrong times, he had it on his back and when he got busted ran away into a nearby hospital. they thought he was still going to trigger it.

they've been very clear to point out on all the coverage i've seen that he is a man of 'Asian' descent, meaning he's brown really. jokes.

i feel bad as all hell for the asians in britain. especially the real Pakistanis [although anyone who's asian is a Paki to a lot of the Poms]. they are going to cop it, plain and simple. some fo the blacks too thanks to that idiot of a fourth bomber.

Yeah, that's pretty odd. They were making up all sorts of stuff with the first bombings ... the number killed rose and drop. They said things like, "the number of dead are up as high as 52, however, only 32 people are officially" ... way to pull on the heartstrings. Now they're dead, now they're not, now they are, now they're not.

One station for awhile said 7 bomb blasts well after it was 6 confirmed ... bloody media.

Yeah discrimination in London is gonna be hell.

so wrong. totally rough. the bbc's death toll didn't rise past two until they got the official figures straight from the sites and hospitals, god bless the bbc and the factuality.

coverage of this smacks of the 'hand grenade' that was thrown at bush a few months ago.

headlines and copy don't match:

GRENADE THROWN AT BUSH
A small device, possibly a hand grenade...

so, it was totally-possibly a hand grenade, and for all we know, could've actually been made of chocolate. later on, the FB-aiii puts our totally-possible chocolate grenade under initial, qualified inspection:

"From initial qualified inspection, this hand grenade appears to be a live device that simply failed to function due to a light strike on the blasting cap induced by a slow deployment of the spoon activation device."

it appears to be a grenade? does that mean it's a chocolate grenade? why not just say: "yep. it's a grenade"?

Yeah was wondering what happened with that grenade thing with Bush ... only really heard 'grenade thrown at Bush' ... then it kinda faded away, so it can't have been that serious.

Was probably a plastic regulation Gi-Joe replica.

One of the police officers was holding a black automatic pistol in his left hand. He held it down to him and unloaded five shots into him.

I saw it all. He was dead, five shots. I was literally less than five yards away.

yeh that'll help the cause. let's shoot someone who may possibly be strapped with high explosives...nah it won't cause any damage. cept a god damn hole within the freakin' vicinity.

if police, federal or otherwise have the powers to shoot without question something is wrong and has the bobby scared.

if he was successful, many more would have died.
i might not be detecting sarcasm, but he was an unarmed brazilian tourist
he was chased because he "was wearing a heavy coat on a warm day" so might have been covering explosives.

the fact he's brazilian and anything less than 40deg is cold doesn't matter...

unbelievable spin:

''And bear in mind that if the Stockwell suspect had been wearing a suicide belt, the officers who shot him would be lauded as heroes and loaded with medals, as well as the thanks of a grateful public.''

also bear in mind you just shot a man for running with a coat on, you UTTER FUCKUPS.

...and this buck-passing is just spineless:

"The police acted to do what they believed necessary to protect the lives of the public. This tragedy has added another victim to the toll of deaths for which the terrorists bear responsibility," London mayor Ken Livingstone said.

cnn being one of three channels that i can understand over here, is raping the whole situation. I can safely say that i am completely numb in regards to this because for nearl 24-7 they are on about it. Golf and sailing cuts into the air time but apart from that.. And no, i haven't heard too much in regards to Egypt. As far as the televising the drama goes anyway...
