I went through so many of them - my most favouritest camera ever (I still have one that is sadly only decorative sitting on my coffee table). Really sad that the SX-70 Film is no longer manufactured.
i've got two working ones. one standard and one limited edition with brown leather and metal instead of brown leather and plastic

used to be really into my photography and especially polaroids.
got about 10 old polaroid cameras and about 15 box brownies.
should really get back into it...

http://www.polaroid.com/sx70/en/index.html
" Please be advised that Polaroid will be discontinuing the manufacture of its SX-70 / Time-Zero film within the first 3 months of 2006 due to the phasing out of components used in the production of this film.
We realise that this is disappointing news for our loyal SX-70 users and we would like to underline that, although the circumstances made it inevitable, it was not an easy decision. "
Apparently there are mods you can do to the cameras so they will accept the 600 film, but it's a bit tricky as that film is around 4 times as fast as the sx-70 film, plus it doesnt have any of the sx-70's lovely fragile messy characteristics....

The 2007 Vice Photo issue deadline is fast approaching and we'd love to see any photos that you think will look good in there.
If you can pm me with a link, that would be great. The sooner the better.
Also, feel free to pm me if you have questions.
Cheers

Anything that is striking in both composition and subject matter.
In the past they have had everything from a guy weeing into his own mouth to some really beautiful landscape shots.
The brief is pretty broad. I'd hazard a guess and say that anything that suggests "Australia" will have a better chance of making it into the global issues of vice... nothing too shearing-shed cliche...
The last issue had (from memory) some aboriginal kids out the front of a newsagency in the NT, and I think the local issue of the newpaper in the window behind them said something about "deaths in custody".
But at the same time that picture of the cat by LC or that Slayer concert would totally be contenders.
Gots to be in it to win it.
