NO!!! I don't think I should have to replace one sound with another, and one that can distract me from critical thinking. I just want them all to be considerate of shared spacestovequeen wrote:headphones ladyPolecat wrote:GOTD - Open plan office I HATE you!!! I miss the Uni days when working at home was perfectly legit to get a quiet environment
Hmph!
I resorted to headphones about 30 mins ago though in frustration.

I do ask people to STFU when it is someone close and just a couple of people but when it is groups and there is lots of commotion, I just give in a go get a cup off coffee sometimes. Too many people to chastise.
Already done the coffee walk to the tearoom and back today..

Thanks guys, I feel so much better about it now
I google imaged it and everyone else's seem bigger than mine. It feels like a bone has chipped or splintered or sumthing. I'll survive...it's just disconcerting
D, take some painkillers early...you've got 4 more hours at that screen, you don't want the strain headache to get any worse.

My sisters boyfriend's Mum is completely deaf and he's partially deaf. He works at Able Australia (used to be the Deaf & Blind Association...I think it's the DUMBEST fucking name change on the planet) and all of his clients are completely and utterly unable to assist themselves in even the most mudane tasks that we take for grant. Like eating, getting dressed, going to the loo, everything. I have such a high level of respect for his dedication.
Oh, and he gets paid sweet fuck all.
