Have a close look at the colour distortion on the right of him...

Mr Lob, in the words of Pauline Hanson... "Please Explain?"
Is this photo pre or post production?

I'd understand if it had been through some filtering but if it's raw.... WTF?

I normally shoot in jpeg but thanks to a suggestion from deviant I started to shoot in raw, albeit briefly due to lack of memory space!

here are the first raw shots I ever took using raw...

cf cards are mad cheap these days; you'll be surprised how little you can get a 4GB (or more) card for.

yeah, the d50 (like basically all dslrs) just takes standard compact flash cards. i'm shooting jpg + raw on a 4gb card, and rarely find myself pressed, but always have my laptop with me. think you can reasonably get 8gb cards, even.

Ive got 4 x 2gb Sandisk CF cards. Only ever shoot raw and very rarely come close to filling two let alone all of them. The idea of one 4gb or 8gb worries me, the old saying of don't put all your eggs in one basket ;)

my 4GB is rooted.... camera tells me there's 3.8GB on an empty card (correct).... computer tells me 3.8xxxGB on empty card (correct) yet head up display on camera only gives me 900~ shots (less than 1000) on empty card.... and that's shooting jpg. wierd :?

SQ, that photo is amazing. The trees may be bare, but there's so much detail in it that my eyes almost overload. Really nicely shot.

Cheers dude, glad you like em :D

Having a FT job I don't really get much time to shoot these days, for the past year i've been out almost EVERY day to shoot a cards worth. I've got over 5000 HQ shots on my hd. Most of them incredible sunsets in Elwood/St Kilda 8)

I'll "shop" some more soon when i get the time and throw em up...

Yup, straight off the film too, no colour post prod. Can only achieve those tones with the Pentax for some reason, my other cameras are way brighter.

Could be the f/1.4...
