I'd call that a win :teef:

Aren't you at uni (or recently finished)? Which one? They usually have job listing that are only available to students. A lot of cushy admin jobs are put up exclusively on there.

Hi kids.

Anyone know of any Account Manager positions going in Graphic Design Agencies? Been working for 4 years in the role, promoted quickly etc.

Been working in FMCG & Branding, but happy to explore other areas.

Need interviews asap as i'm leaving for OS next week.

Thanks

Hey peeps,

I work for Krome Melbourne and we've got an opportunity for someone who has experience in 3D Studio Max / Maya, and has a forte in UI design. We're also after a Senior Games Programmer.

Mad skills are more important than experience within the games industry, but as they're senior roles they wouldn't suit someone straight out of Uni or TAFE.

If you're interested or know anyone who may be, drop me an email:

ramsay actually faked the swipe from his own restaurant and blamed it on mpw. not sure if a court case has ensued, as ramsay recently admitted the prank, much to mpw's chagrin.

working for government is ace

my job is hell stressy a lot of the time but the conditions are awesome and my work is contributing back to people which is good feeling

by mixtress
I'm coming to a crossroads. Do I take the more stressful external position, further from home but at a greatly increased rate, or do I stick with people I'm comfortable with, uber close to home albeit with standard pay?

Challenge or Ease
Stressful or Stressfree
Pay Rise or No Pay Rise

hurmph :?

PS: FS, my Dad always told me to get a job with the government, but did I listen?

^^^Challenge FTW.

Keeps you interested.

I went the route of sticking with the more comfortable job for standard pay. Reasons: didn't need the extra money and I have other things going in my life that I want to devote more time to, not less :)

But, of course you may be better at managing stress than I am!

by JAMESSSS
Really depends how much money we are talking I suppose.

I'd love an extra 50k a year.

I think I'd work more for that.

Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:08 am
by mixtress
Howz about $15-20k more p.a? That's heaps innit?

I'm about 65% with the challenge at the mo', I'll wait to see if the easy possie can offer me more.

Weeeeeee! It feels so nice to be wanted :D

Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:03 pm
by witty_pseudonym
jesus, i'd MUCH rather go for the challenge. comfortable is boring imo, especially when it comes to work. and for 15-20k more p.a? I honestly fail to see the dilemma.

Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:38 pm
by mixtress
Dilemma is, I can be in the cushy job for years, but if the challenge of the other job's too great for me I'll be looking for work again in 6 months. After being unemployed so long, that's highly daunting.

Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:40 pm
by Ani
I completely understand where you are coming from with that mixtress, but even 6months in the challenging job could open up other doors you never thought of. Might be worth the risk.

(State) Government pay is shit. But yes it can be cruisy, but then why does my work go through periodic phases where it seems every 2nd man or woman is jumping ship!?

Pick the job that will be most interesting to you Mixy, so that you'll want to get out of bed and go, and be happy to look at your bank balance on pay day.

Thanks everyone...taking it all into consideration. Having this job dilemma is better than having no job prospects at all

Does any one hear work in IT? I need a new challenge, haven't learnt anything for months.

Desktop/Server/Network experience for 5 years.

Looking for a cool company to work for, where I can enjoy my work, and learn off more experienced people.

What sort of Desktop/Server/Networks?
MS Server 2003, 2000, NT etc. Citrix and Novell.

Desktop: XP, Vista, PDA's, Office 2003, 100's of other apps and hardware.

Network: WAN/LAN support, TCP/IP, printer setup etc.

I also have TL experience, and experience in customer facing roles and reporting. I'm basically after a good Level 2/3 role, or a Systems Admin type role, or similar. Just something different.

I'm so bored at the moment.

Know of any jobs going?

Anyone know of any jobs in the education/arts administration field?

I've been working for a university in general administration, doing everything from enrolments, minute taking, marketing, scholarship organisation, web page maintenance and accounts.

Full time would be good but part time also.
Cheers
