Cold Sweat is a song that came out in 1967, performed by James Brown and written by his bandleader Alfred ‘Pee Wee’ Ellis. It was recognised as a radical departure from conventional songwriting at the time of its release where an overwhelming emphasis is put on the first beat of each measure ("on the one") - it is sometimes cited as the first true funk song.
To celebrate 40 years of funkateers pumping out intense grooves First Floor is having a big night of funkalicious tunes, paying homage to both the funk originators and the new kids on the funk block. Four DJs will be playing funk music from the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties and naughties for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Some of the key funk players you’re likely to here are: James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, The Meters, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Isley Brothers, Parliament, Funkadelic, The Commodores, Kool and the Gang, Isaac Hayes, Prince, Rick James, Afrika Bambaataa, Cameo, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Living Colour, Fort Knox Five, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.

Yeah, but I had those man boob implants removed after 1 of them ruptured & sprayed an entire dancefloor of unsuspecting souls with a silicon based glo-stick ooze...obliveus wrote:^^^ The body is actually something I found of Lindemon in Byron from a few years back. Rob wishes that was his body.

If that's the story you want to sell, then by all means sell it. But we all know where the "ooze" really came from.Lindemon wrote:Yeah, but I had those man boob implants removed after 1 of them ruptured & sprayed an entire dancefloor of unsuspecting souls with a silicon based glo-stick ooze...obliveus wrote:^^^ The body is actually something I found of Lindemon in Byron from a few years back.
