SO many options
I'm sticking with the kit 18-55 for the time being and gunna go for a super-wide first before replacing the kit with a better lens......
definitely go for a EF 50mm F1.8 to begin with ..... only $100 and totally awesome.

it'd be more accurate to compare the d80 to the 300d, but the canon back has better auto focus, higher image capture resolution and a better (imo) ccd.Mellogs wrote:Canon EOS 400D Digital vs Nikon D40x?
you can read more about the d40 and the 400d on digital photography review though. make up your own mind.

I'm in the market for a new camera.
Mine's fine for what I want to do now, but I may want to become a stalker in the future and I can't change the lens so it's not future-proof.
Plus it's also only 5.1 megapix so it's not fantastic quality...

you really just need to know how apeture, shutter speed, and sensitivity relate to each other and to the shot. once you've got that, it's all gravy.ghetto kitty wrote:if only i had time to read the manual tho.fooishbar wrote:<3jbs wrote:So who is going to start the MB.com Canon 400D facebook fan club?

A digital camera with 12 million pixels is better than one with 6 million. ‘That is correct’ is what you would probably say because you’ve always heard more pixels are better.
It’s not true(!!!),

needs refresher course.
the only one in the CBD is on wed when i have late mngmnt meetings so FAIL to that.
makes sense, although it also says that a full frame (35mm) sensor is best and capable of 96MPjbs wrote:http://6mpixel.org/en/

I guess it's mainly talking about conpacts
this thread has comments that echo this, the industry is obsessed with MP count. I know that people always ask when they see my Dslr "how many megapixels is that?" which is kind of irrelevant..... my old canon ixus 3.2pm takes fantastic shots too
