just read over on ITM forums rumors of Prodigy and Radiohead

dunno how much truth in it both either would be pretty special..
recent prodigy live shows look nuts apart from some of the MCing

also on ITM someone reckons Hot BBQ 2009:
Santogold
Digitalism
Boyz Noise
Busy P
DJ Mehdi
A-Trak

fark. already got a pyramid ticket, might have to get back in time for hot bbq like i did after falls this year

too many fking expensive fests....

The new prodigy stuff i've heard is a total return to form... proper fucking old skool style beats and shit. But yes, BDO is total fail. I'd rather just pick the 2 or 3 acts I want to see, and go to their side-show instead.

So I read this morning that The Prodigy will be headlining the Boiler Room, not main stage, which is a good thing.
Also they are reacting to complaints from this years gig and are going to add 30% more grass and extra shade.

I'm considering going to the Auckland one...

Headless Chickens have reformed for it, and The Black Seeds are also playing.

If I don't manage to get there, this will be the first BDO I've missed in about 5 years, and I've only ever missed 2.

Unlike those other times, I won't be sad about missing it though.

just spoke to some peeps at BDO headquarters and it seems $10k less tickets have been sold for Melb show. I said it could be due to the venue, which they said they have done HUGE improvements on last year i.e. grass is now covering the dusty areas etc. Then again it could just be the line-up...

they have cut staffing as a result. thankfully not me, but sucks for newbies wanting to get in on the action.

anyways, will see how it goes. if it is as bad as it was last year, i am def out. unless line-up sucks me back in.

^^ That's great news for those that are going - over crowding was a major issue that stopped me from going to the big day out, and festivals in general.
