Where the F is the Nu-Jazz, Broken Beat, Conscious Hip hop?!
Hey...
Looking for some good venues, sets in Melbourne city and around to enjoy some nu-jazz, broken Beat, Hip Hop and Co. in a chilled atmosphere....
Anyone? Any idea?
Is this too much to ask?
Well, we'll see....But meanwhile check this sound:

Ahoy there,
I play stuff that sort of fits that description every Friday at the Canary Club in the city. Its a cocktail/tapas lounge bar of Russell st- between little collins and bourke.
Tend to start off the night with jazz and funk then tend a bit more groove based (stuff like older herbiliser/nightmares on wax) and from there funky breaks (fort knox, jazzinvaders, skeewiff) and if still punters about a few breakbeats.
This the gear u were after?

Hey by the way...nice music but this place is quite empty...(expensive drinks!..)
that's a shame.
Looks like Melbournians are not big fan of good music and prefer to queue elsewhere to dance on some club/techno/90's/dead tracks!..

Is dilla considered conscious hip hop - hope not tbh? Maybe J5? because J5 have nauseous lyrics.
