HAHA, A travel agent just emailed me yesterday saying he just wanted to "touch base" to see how I was going. hehe made me giggle a little.

I don't work in a coporate environment far from it.
One term though that I LOVE that we use at my work quite regularly is
"Double jack" or "double jacking" i just fucking LOVE that term, not really something you can use outside my work environment without sounding a bit creepy though.

Speaking of corporate-speak, job-application-speak can gtfo. Research applications are easy peasey, but teaching jobs are total arse-lickery. I am making myself sick :puke:

Tbh, they aren't going to give me a job anyway coz I look (am) 'too researchy' :?

Simple solution is to not add people from work to Facebook. That's what I do and I complain all the time.

I've signed twelfty-two confidentiality things, and get more all the time. No discussing with anyone, ever. On top of that, we have different levels of security clearance, from Unclassified through to US Department of Defence Top Secret. They probably even monitor the shit I say here.

got tonsilitis.. :(

fucking doctor prescribed me 25 days of penicillin! now, to me, that seems like an awful lot, for what is essentially a sore throat. I'm hesitant to start the course, coz I know with these things you gotta take the whole lot.... but tbh, I dun wanna be stuck taking fucking antibiotics for 3.5 weeks.. :(

I'm just questioning the enormity of the dose. I've only ever done between 5-10 days of antibiotics before.

it may seem like a lot but tbh I've been on peniciliin for that long before when I had tonsilitis. mind you I was quite sick, not "just a sore throat".

tonsilitis can make you pretty crook left unchecked tho, I'd just take it.

Last time I had tonsillitis, the doctor said something about heart failure and demanded I come back in two weeks. U-huh, so you can collect on another insurance payout... US healthcare scare-mongering can gtfo :?

Dan, did they specifically say why the course is so long? If not, mebbe ring to double check?

i had repeated bad boughts of tonsilitis when I was 17. once managed to push a fever of 41 (you start to see shit, well I did anyway).

i imagine your fever has to be much higher for serious issues like renal favour, but I will say it was an incredibely shite experience and you probably dont want it.

take the pills.

I had tonsillitis so bad when I was 16 that those white pus growth things were actually dangling down my throat causing me to gag.... fucking gross and fucking uncomfortable.

I'm surprised they didn't take them out, I had it pretty bad quite a few times.

I very rarely finish my dosages of penicillin when I get tonsilitis, i get it usually around 3 times a year just cause I'm so lucky, Now I just hoard antibiotics and also panadine forte in my house for times of real need.

and no I def don't work in the adult entertainment industry

i got lectured by a doc friend about not finishing course of anti-biotics... she said it just make the bacteria stronger overall, not just on you... it has not much to do with your immune system, its more about killing all the bacteria so nothing is left to develop... if the course isn't finished, then you can leave bacteria that is adept at being resilient, which can, apparently, spawn bacteria that will be harder to treat... to everyone, not just you... in other word, not finishing a course is selfish cos it can have repercussions on other people...
was news to me, i thought it only screwed with my ability to kill bacteria with antibiotics (due to immune system and whatever else), but it actually makes the bacteria stronger for everyone... and overtime, will be a lot harder to treat for anyone.

any doctor dealing with this is largely up against anti-biotic courses not being completed. the prescribed course is larger (def for tonsillitis, i always got 3-4 weeks of penicillin) than what seems necessary because they want nothing to survive in the end... helps kill the smart fuckers and stops them from developing...

i got told by a naturopath once years ago that getting tonsilitis is your bodies way of saying you are harbouring something that you are not telling someone i.e. its like a cause of the stress of the emotions you are bottling up. I thought it was ridiculous, and still kind of do, but i haven't had tonsilitis in years after i started talking to people when i had an issue about something, big issues of course. Weird i know, but it could be the case, especially when our bodies can react to stress quite badly and in different ways.

Tonsilitis is caused by bacteria, but if you look at bacteria very closely, it's actually made up of millions of them aliens like off Independance Day. Penicillin is a compound constructed of billions of tiny Will Smiths and Randy Quaids, and they are sent in to wage war on this minature intergalactic menace. However, many will die in the ensuing battle. By not finishing the course, you may eliminate the initial threat, but leave you tonsils (or "Earth" as it is referred to by scientists) open to further waves of attack by these interplanetary warmongering arseholes. By continuing the course you allow a large army of Will Smiths and Randy Quaids to build up forces, set up camp, and repel any further attacks. In serious cases, you may also be prescribed a course of Jeff Goldblums to back up the penicillin.

It's your choice. Though considering Jeff pretty much only plays a left-of-centre scientist in all his roles, the choice is more or less an illusion.
