Final Scratch 2 vs Serrato???
Anyone used either of these setups? Both?
Up here in Brisi people at music stores wonder why you wont buy a product without them showing you a demonstration - "I won't get it outa the box unless you're serious," to which I say, "I'm not going to be serious untill you let me have a go."
So finally my point: Which setup is better for mixing? Any known weaknesses? Problems? General comments? Any online reviews by users NOT companies or magazines that have loyalties?
I know that FS uses Traktor, which I have played with and seems fine - but what is the Serrato Software like?

If they won't let you try it then go somewhere else ( Fuckem ), Tis a lot of cash to outlay on something that doesn't do what you want it to.
Maybe next time you're here in Melbourne you should drop into Mannys or one of the other music shops for a side by side comparison.!!!
Personally I think Rane has it in the bag;

Haven't tried 'em myself. But caught National Pornographic a month or so ago - and there DJ is sponsored by Rane. What he was able to do with them was pretty amazing - I spoke to him after the show, and he loves them - reckons they shit all over the competition (but then again, he would wouldn't he!).

its eazy, Rane all the way!
I was told by Doo Wop while he was out here with guru that Jazzy Jeff has 20,000 choons on his laptop to use with sereto.
I have never used FS or FS2 but I can tell ya there is no need because Sereto works every time be it cutting, scratching, juggling or mixing!
And just out is Version 1.4 with some kool new tweaks to the software!

Hi guys,
One thing is too make sure your PC's hard disk speed is over 4200rpm, for both serato and final scratch. Also goto http://www.musicxp.net/ if u use XP and tweak up your PC for better audio performance.

Scratch Live makes something which isn't a trivial task seem easy. It works so well to the point of being transparent - a good idea perfectly executed.
