First drum and bass party i went to in Melbourne was in the basement, back in 2001 something run by Nailz and Jerry killed it, kept me on the dancefloor for a full hour, looking forward to seeing Eden and JPS go back to back with a little friendly competitive spirit. Best mixing I ever saw was Zinc and Marky b2b covering for Andy C who was late for a gig as always, I reckon they could at least as well

well that was absolutley shithouse. 5 people on the dancefloor all night, shit sound, music stopped dead a couple of times, thats it for me pretty sure that will be my last gig for a long time.

thanks for your kind words mate. yes the sound was a joke and so was the equipment. these problems should not have occurred as I was hiring a venue with an expectation of at least up to standard sound and equipment. as far turnout goes yes it did suck (i know i lost a fuck load of money) we had 86 people through the door and people were leaving because of the above mentioned issues and it has a snow ball effect i guess. i organize phonetics to show case local line ups and hopefully give people a good night out, i was stuck working the door all night at my own event which was depressing to say the least...

Look at the positive side... Cubist vs JPS was a good set and good vibes :] Hope someone got some photos cause the fact that at least that went smoothly is a good omen for melbourne.

I was really suprised at the turnout tbh I was expecting it to be pretty packed so that's unfortunate but what can ya do?

Yeah the sound in that place needs something, just needs some subs or to push that system's bass a bit harder? I dunno I swear I've heard it pushing more air than that but I could be wrong.

I had a good night, can't really complain for 5 bucks lol.

well i couldnt really lie and say it was the best gig i've been to in years could i?

sorry you lost money but put on parties and expect to loose a bit. it sucks for you becase as far as i know that was the ONLY dnb gig on all weekend and melb people should have reached this abd supported but for some reason didnt, weather? venue? lineup? its your job to go over this and see where it all went wrong....but i do wish you luck for then next, biggup for having a go and sorry if i sound jaded i had not been out in a very long time and was expecting something better.

good to see ac23 jumping round the floor all by him self tho, nice to know the DJ tag dosnt affect his dancefloor skills.

better luck next time! it's a shame about the sound and turnout but still had fun during bba's set
