really, im lookin bi=ut i aint feeling it
what would u use it for, djing or studio?
i cant get into the studio mixer style faders on dj mixers, i never seem to get into allen and heath stuff
sure it sounds awesome and is really well built, they are really good, but the layout and fader knobs don;t do it for me, the one at bourgie made me angry
what you liking about it?

Yeah, I agree Mr. Unsound. I don't understand why they put the delay in the crossfader. And the volume fader knobs aren't suited to dj mixing both in their shape and volume curve if you like to quickly shift the fader up or down. The EQ knobs are too close together and you can't mix the levels between cue and master.
Sure, they sound good but if you can manage to keep ur levels at one bar of red on a DJM600 (although a lot of club systems and DJ's can't do this) then they sound fine and are far better to use imo.

Sorry they made a typo
Should readWhen we decided to build a club mixer, we wanted to satisfy club tech's and DJs alike. Xone:464 naturally shares its construction methods with our pro touring desks, so venues can depend on it for outstanding audio and reliability.
When we decided to build a club mixer we took our last Xone range, ignored DJ comments it's bordering on unusable in a dark club enviroment and made it look prettier, as well as adding some extra knobs.

Also, WHO THE HELL WANTS A 4 BAND EQ!!!Cubist wrote:Yeah, I agree Mr. Unsound. I don't understand why they put the delay in the crossfader. I fail to see the point at ALL when you have such a nice (and they are nice) set of filters

fair enough, I personally love the A&H mixers. I find them to be rock solid, really intuitive mixers. I find it really weird when I see dj's balk at the 4 band EQ, I've seen people not be able to get their heads around the fact that it is split into four and not three. I just think this thing looks awesome. I like the idea of having the extra options of the mixing desk bands on the side. If you dont need em, dont use em. But options are good, flexibility is good.
there is your problem right there. That part in brackets.Cubist wrote: Sure, they sound good but if you can manage to keep ur levels at one bar of red on a DJM600 (although a lot of club systems and DJ's can't do this)

The delay is there because the cross fader has a filter on it to get rid of the click sound that occurs when cutting between channels. Its not a scratch mixer, if you want to scratch get a rane.

The curve on the faders is fine, more responsive than a 600....where there is a huge jump in volume from 0 --> 5. I have never had any problems with the eq knobs either, they feel / sound way cleaner than djm600. I think the only problem with the mixer is you need 2 hands free when mixing (not one adjusting record pitch)..., you just need to lock the pitch in...and you can get real clean mixes out of it :goestopracticefrictiontechnique:
I do, being able to control the mid lows make your mixes way less muddy, sits just above the kick / bass frequencies...which is great to capture the upper part of bass synths without impacting on the midrange.jbs wrote:[Also, WHO THE HELL WANTS A 4 BAND EQ!!!

Did I mention they sound sick?
Hmmm.strategem wrote:fair enough, I personally love the A&H mixers. I find them to be rock solid, really intuitive mixers. I think my problem is I don't know where they sit. If I had one at home I might love it.

yea, it's an audio mixer not a trick mixer..
go buy a Vestax PMC08ProA if yr after that.... it looks the bizness. (all the larger vestax models are all fucked btw).
personally i can see a wicked use for the Xone464 for live dj and production stuff... I can hook up my laptop, some analogue synth action a mic and be playing with decks... at the same time...
(in my head a rahzel voice was just used... do I have to pay royalties?)
