saw Tron in 3D at Imax last night. thought it was awesome. kind of like a psy-trance party without the shady music and maximum neon.

Agreed.

Tron was absolutely stunning. Not much of a plot and Jeff Bridges channels a little too much of "The Dude" but it was farken nice to look at.

I know what you mean, but I do think he's a wicked actor, and how the hell did they make him look so young as Clu?

It was entirely CG. It was a touch awkward but it worked

saw 3 movies on the weekend

Tangled - WELL funny! laughed out loud a lot. would see again i reckon.

The Expendables - i accidentally chose this movie on the foxtel box office on Friday night thinking i was picking Despicable Me. Not sure how i managed to do that, but anyways. This movie was fricken woeful! Sylvester Stallon directs and acts in it. i reckon he pulled strings to get his buddies in the movie like Dolph Lundgren, Arnie did a cameo, Bruce Willis was even in it, and Jet Li. Was quite the mash up of people. It could have been good i reckon if it was written better and the acting was not soooo contrived.

Predators - have seen all the Predator movies and Aliens v Predator movies, and i reckon this one is close to being my favourite out of all of them. Awesome cast of people, story line and cool Predator killing and destroying of stuff.

 i cant recall what happened after but pretty sure there was secks! :P

just not again hahah

i LOVED TRON!!!! was my favorite 'future movie' for a very long time. yes, crap dialouge etc etc predictable story, but just visually AMAZING...

also HIGHLY reccommend The Black Swan with Natalie Portman. If anyone think ballerinas are all sweet and innocent you are wrong!
pretty much 5 out of 5 for that one - she is totes awesome in it.

Recently I have seen:

Megamind -
Which was pretty good
Social Network - Which was pretty good
Fast Food Nation - Which was good up until the end, where it suddenly ends with no resolution whatsoever, like it ended half an hour early or something. Completely negated all the good that came before it. Gay.
Harry Brown - Which was pretty damn cool.
Tron - Which was pretty, but I got bored after about an hour. Still not bad.

^^

Social Network - Yeah would agree with pretty good but I think it's one of those films which will improve on the second viewing. It doesn't even really matter that facebook is involved as it's just a good old fashioned story about friendship, power and betrayal. Amazing script and the fact that a movie that is 2 hours of talking has done so well commercially is fairly good for mankind and the general good of the planet.
Fast Food Nation - Liked this more than I realised on first viewing aswell. The fact that the main protagonist disappears halfway through has pretty much never been done and was an interesting move. The point that there is not much resolution doesnt really distract the point that Linklater is trying to make, and if anything it kind of illustrates that there is no easy resolution or answer to America's food problems.
Harry Brown - TBH Fucking hated this movie with a passion, recommended by everyone but in the end it was just boring, there was pretty much no tension because the whole thing played out so bog standardly and I kind of felt sorry for Michael Caine who despite bringing a certain level of quality to the whole thing kind of phoned it in. The first scene was amazing though

My humble opinions on these films :)

yeah i need to see despicable me badly, think i will just d/l it now.

really? gosh, i am usually good at picking up corny pretty quickly, but i didn't feel that. i found the second Aliens v Predator was a bit like that, but others loved it. i liked the first Aliens v Predators the most and the first Predator film. want more to be honest

Thing is, I just loved the original Predators movie and despite the terrible acting had some genuinely groundbreaking moments. This just felt like a watered down version of that, without any of the tension or new ideas... it was also kind of predictable I thought.. I did watch it drunk though so maybe I was being cynical. :)

A lot of people did like it I know but Despicable Me is way more entertaining...the animation is just out of control.

When these guys...

predator AND aliens are both absolute classics... brilliant. the VS movies had sooooo much potential, which was totally and utterly wasted imo.

We just watched The American

It was quite good, but also very slow and tense. I was expecting something a little more actiony, so kinda had to adjust my headspace halfway through. I was looking for some lighter entertainment and the time and it didn't match well so it kinda made it a bit harder to watch. If I was in the right headspace it would have been betterer.

Watched Catfish last night.

Was expecting some kind of Blair Witch thing based on what i was told and the "twist at the end" etc etc.

Nothing like that at all really, but it did make me kind of feel sorry for the person.

Was a pretty good movie, worth a watch.

Im with you on that one. A mate of mine told me the same thing re "the twist", so i was expecting some type of murder or violence...

Still a good movie tho, just would've been better if i went in with no expectations. :)

This weekend I watched:

The Killer Inside Me: Not bad, but a bit dull in places. I get the feeling this works much better in the book, which I am now keen to read.
The Other Guys : Good dumb fun, but not great. Strictly a download job.

Watched Let Me In the other night, not a remake of Let The Right One in, rather another adaptation of the book. Very similar to the latter film though.

Bleak cinematography, great perfomance from Chloe Moretz (aka Hitgirl).

Pretty shit, Michael Cera is soo fkn one dimensional, but hey, he is probably making millions.
Only good thing about it was the production style, comic book like fight scenes etc, some quirky little things about it too.
