Liz, a big :smt058 :smt056 to you.

You are a very beautiful and much loved girl, as seen here by all the outpouring of love and support for you.

You have so much support and friends who will be strong for you even when you can't.

You'll get through this and as GM says, you will come out the other side with lessons learnt and even stronger than before.

it also brings grey hair and I think for a great many of us alzheimers.

but what Mr Magnet says is very true and his wisdom is plain for all to see. I spent 3 years in a relationship that probably should have really only lasted 1 year because I didn't know how to tell someone I didn't love them anymore, or even realise that was how I felt.

On the plus side she used to live near the Laundry and it was only a 45 second walk to go down there on a saturday night and watch J-Red beat juggle, smoke a ciggie, and talk to a chick all at the same time. the guys a legend.

my brain is seriously not working one little bit after the weekend.

was just talking to a very senior manager in our department and in one particular sentence managed to put all the words in completley the wrong order.

cant remember exactly what I said but heres at least an example of how it might have sounded. Instead of

"Did you notice the car had almost run out of petrol"

it came out more like

"out almost the did car of notice you had petrol run"

She just regarded with me with the strangest look that was some sort of combination of disbelief, confusion, and pure unadulturated terror. I simply cant imagine what she thinks of me, but I'm sure her theories involve a pre 1980 IVF attempt of mixed success that went wrong when someone dropped a blueberry in a test tube (I know the pre 1980 fact because I went to kindergarten with Australia's first test tube baby, Candice Reed, nice girl too, we used to dip our hands in bird seed together).

apart from being an extremley career limiting move it also has me boggling at the amazing abilities of the human brain. how is it that my brain managed to take all these words, put them in the wrong order, and then deliver them without missing one.

anyway this is a gripe because I just torched my work credibility with the enthusiasm of a thirteen year old pyromaniac ADD sufferer on a Ritalin comedown.

felt compelled to gripe again

on the way home I accidently stepped on this girls foot on the tram (not that uncommon occurence) so I said sorry to which she replies "yeah well just watch it".

wtf!

I felt like replying "yeah sorry, its just that I thought you were a newly evolved species of walking turd and I felt compelled to step on you immediately in the hope that I would cut short your brief foray into existence and that nature would realise its cruel mistake and not repeat it".

alas brain not working and I merely replied "rughel gorhom mate".

cant be all bad cos she backed off good and proper. big ups non sensical me.

I once accidently kicked this guy in the cinema, not very hard mind, and he turned and yelled at me, in the middle of the film!! Everyone turned around and stared at me like I was the devil

lol bl dust. a few months ago i deliberately kicked a guy in the head because he wouldn't shut up during the film (he was sitting right in front of us).

@ liz... i can't say much cept u got us all to lub and support you. And as the song goes, breaking up is hard to do. Sometimes it has to be done, but you live and learn mang.

everybody here has probably been thru the same thing and each has their own take. some of it is good advice. some of it is very specific to people's situations and probably doesn't apply. but all of it is good to listen to. i've found that listening to other peoples experiences is a great way of dealing (as you well know i'm still pulling myself up from a similar experience).

ok i said too much.

bigup liz u'll be fine.

dude, I had a job like that. wanna know what I did? I quit. BEST THING I EVER DID.

Life is too short to spend it being the sacrificial lamb for some bunch of loser managers, whose complete inability to communicate they blame on their subordinates inability to "upwardly manage. Upwardly manage THIS is what I say.

Something terrible has occured tonight. My little baby cactus, Dennis, which i have been carefully raising for the last 4 months or so, was found dug out of his pot at approximately 8:35pm this evening by an unknown assailant.

Dennis, who has only recently been repotted into a larger pot, has been growing in a tiny capsule since June this year. He seemed to be doing fine in his new home and was outside today getting much needed sun.

I went out to bring him inside for the night only to find the pot has been dug out, and after a bit of looking around in the dark, i found Dennis on the ground missing all of his spines.

He has since been replanted. Here is hoping that he lives up to the cactus reputation of being quite resistant to being out of the ground for extended periods of time and can make a full recovery.

here you can see Dennis on the left, with his friend.

i have a cactus of my own that I've been growing for about 4 years now, its at least tripled in size, i think im going to have to re-pot it soon because the cactus is around four times the size of the pot.

its one of these ones

But for some people saving yourself till after marriage is a religious thing. What if Fents has doomed himself to purgatory? I'd say thats a pretty big gripe.

so fents, was it intentional or was it "just a move she pulled"?
