33&1/3 Brekbeat BBQ - NYD '05

Post by Friday »

Get ready to start the year proper !!

We think we’ve hit a great big fat bulls eye with the line up this year and with the recent renovations to the Espy we’re worried you’ll never attend a better party. Things will kick off at 11am and roll through until 1am. We’ve doubled the offerings but not the ticket price. There will be B.B.Q. There will be cheap beverages. There will be dancing, some of which may or may not take place on the ceiling.

PLUMP DJ’S (fingerlickin’ UK)
Finally, this is the first time EVER both plumps will perform in Melbourne together, twice as much tub, so, heave yourself down and burn off those calories. Come on fatty, shake it.

ANDY C & GQ (Ram Records)
The hottest dnb dj in the world today is finally heading south for the festive season. You have the cds, you know the tunes. Now buy the ticket and see the Ram records mixing machine in his only Melbourne show.

TAYO (Mob Records)
The highlight of last years B.B.Q was this man’s closing set so we’ve invited shorty the pimp back to do it all again. Hook me up some big ass bass and lay down the law. This Mob boss has more than a pistol in his pocket.

B.L.I.M (TCR)
Boy Lost In Music Finds himself in Melbourne. His 2freaks floor stormer was caned to death on Triple J this year so he no longer qualifies for cool underground status but this trendy wendy’s ok in our books still.

KRUST & DIE (Full Cycle)
Full cycle founding members and long serving Bristol boys are back in M-Town. The I Kamanchi series put them on the map and with regular appearances at London’s Fabric they’re set for showdown this year at 33 1/3. As Krust puts it “we’re all about funk

Local supports over 3 stages
Sunshine / Brewster / Ben Stacey / Alias & Mc Tre / Lynt / Nick Thayer / Blueprint (live) Ransom / G san / Paz / Jesse I & Ras Crucial / Ennio Styles / Brett Volker Lex / Rux / John Doe / Kombat Bass / Fletch / Seven / K-oscillate (live) / JPS / Blanco

33&1/3 Unheard
This area is dedicated all those talented local dj's that haven't played a 33&1/3 before.
Dopebeat & MC Wasp / Lucas Chan / Obliveous / Brainstorm / Ides / Kammo / Nam / Feigan & MC Direkt / Guyno & Dr Sponk / Hans / Ooi (Shook Daily Crew) / Fred Mcfly / Keir

To avoid disappointment, if there is an artist you are specifically coming to see, allow yourself plenty of time to find a good spot in the area your act is performing - well before they are scheduled to hit the stage.

Performance times will be posted on the website one week before the event. Programming cards and maps available throughout the venue on the day.

REMEMBER: 33&1/3 Cheap n Nasties are only on sale until 1st December (or sold out).
After this full price tickets will be available for $60 +bf

:) :)

Seriously impessive line up.

Over the moon people like Ooi, Jesse-I and Ras Crucial have been inlcuded. It is going to give a great dynamic to the line up.

Everything from Ripping Drum and Bass to booming Reggea / dancehall and pop locking hip hop.... beat heaven.

Hey SQ and BRB. Didn't you say Ides has been trippin' (overseas) SQ??? Will be good to hear some great tales from the lovely Ida when she returns or was that just another one of my incresingly frequent hallucinations. Thought it was Friday yesterday...... I swear I'm loosin' it!

difference is most of the tops off at 33 1/3 are skinny kids with visors, not big dudes with roids. :?

I'm prepared to give agent mad 1 more chance....Last year was such a good time but as we have all said numerous times...Oversold and too packed. ( Not all agent mads fault I'm told)
Now agent mad know what the correct numbers are to fill the Espy nicely without the squish factor I'm hoping this will be even better.
Good on you guys for bringing together such a great lineup, If the mix is right this year it is gonna be bonkers........

I believe that's actually just Sydney, where they'll be doing one of each. At least I hope that's the case. They haven't been advertising Krust + Die as doing hip hop down here at all.
