Wavewhore

With his recent releases on high profile record labels such as Broke and Electrofly, his Audio Tactics Recordings imprint, and a Sullivan Room residency in New York City, Wavewhore is quickly gaining a reputation as one to watch in the international breakbeat community. Wavewhore began his musical career playing heavy metal guitar in several bands which toured the New York City area. During that time, he was also experimenting with electronic music and in 1992, Well Primed Records released 'The Thorazine Stretch Factor', a CD compilation featuring his first electronic composition titled "Voodoo".

In 2001, Wavewhore founded the Audio Tactics audio production house and event promotions company. Soon after, his "Bulletproof" drum'n'bass track was featured in a film documenting the New York City d'n'b scene titled 'Prohibited Beatz'. In 2004, Wavewhore signed with Electrofly Records and "Breakin' The Law" was released on vinyl in May 2005. The release featured his original mix along with his 40,000 Watts remix and received solid support from Elite Force, The Autobots, Jay Cunning, Jonathan Lisle, Bill Vega and many others. His most recent single, "Funk Pill" featured vocals from Bex Riley and was released on vinyl in December 2005 on the Breakspoll award winning UK imprint Broke Recordings. "Funk Pill" received heavy support from the Drumattic Twins (who licensed it to their Export 01 DJ mix compilation on Finger Lickin Records), as well as DJ Icey, Chris Carter, Ali B, Soul of Man, Klaus Hill, Transformer Man and Myagi. Forthcoming releases include "This Is How It Should Be Done" on Broke Recordings and a remix of Rektchordz's "Bass Pressure" for the Mechanoise labels new BreaksFM imprint. Massive early support seen from Aquasky, The Autobots, DJ Icey, Control Z, Soul of Man, Sonz of Mecha and many more...

As a DJ, Wavewhore has consistently held the top breaks residency in his home base of New York City at the award winning Sullivan Room and has shared the stage with almost every major international breakbeat artist. His high-intensity DJ sets blend many styles of breaks from funk to tear-out to tech into powerful and effective mixes that whip dancefloor crowds into a frenzy. Wavewhore also hosts 'The Audio Tactics Sessions' on www.breaksfm.com where he can be heard every other Monday evening from 8-10pm EST. In addition, he has appeared as a guest on Liquid Todd's 'Altered State' radio show on WKTU 103.5 FM and he was recently interviewed for an artist feature on www.bijoubreaks.com. His name is derived from his addiction to manipulating audio waveforms and from all appearances he promises to be an inspiring force in electronic music.

DJ Ratling

DJ Ratling comes from North London. Growing up listening to a wide range of sounds from Punk and Ska to Blues, Jazz and DnB. In early 90’s he got heavily into the rave scene in the UK, thus laying the foundations for his journey into breakbeat.

After years listening to jungle, drum & bass and hardcore Ratling noticed a new sound beginning to emerge as some DJs began to drop these tracks with new production techniques, but with the same vibe that he loved so much. With a speed similar to old skool hardcore, these tracks where what we now call nuskool breaks.

In March 2005, Ratling started a fortnightly show on BreaksFM, which in August 2005 became a weekly show. Currently airing on Tuesdays 7-9 PM GMT. Artists that have heavily influenced Ratlings include Tayo, Control Z, Tipper, Sunz of Mecha, Deekline & Wizard, Autobots, Backdraft and Aquasky.

Ratling live DJ sets are not to be missed. Blending the dubbier side of breaks with the best jump up and party tunes, he’s sure to get you skanking pon’ tha dance floor with his “electronic dub soundbwoy selection."

Ratling has also promoted events in and around London including co-promoting “Below The Belt,” a beats and breaks night in Holloway and more recently “Plunk,” in association with Breaks FM.

With plans for future events around London as well as spending plenty of time in the studio working on his own productions and his continual rocking of dancefloors, the future looks promising for Ratlings global takeover.

Lock on to Breaks FM Tuesdays 7-9 PM GMT for DJ Ratling's show.

Datapusher and Modulus

Datapusher and Modulus have been partners working together for over ten years. These two have been silently destroying it in the underground over the course of that time.
