I'm generally against dubstep, simply because everyone else seems to like it and going against the norm makes me feel validated as a person, but this was quite a nice mix. :) Very mellow. And dubby. With a stepped sound.

Digging this sound for sure. Seems some of the stuff is getting more and more jilted - could almost throw some squarepusher and the alike into some mixes with some of the more destroyed beats.

Not to mention is this the dj?

Yeah, from what I've observed chatting to people on various dance forums, lots of people say they like dubstep purely because lots of people don't know what it is, and it's kind of like saying you liked Greenday before they got popular, if you get my drift. :)

That's not to say it's not valid as a music style or anything, but the amount of fuss some people make over it shits me, I mean it's just dub music with more upfront percussion, it's not like it's some total revolution in music.

What if you DID like Greenday before they were popular.
And you DO like Dubstep cause it makes ya feel good.

is that ok too?

I liked No Doubt before they were popular, one of the best live shows I ever saw (Toronto, Phoenix Nightclub). Then they blew up and got too popular, and live show suffered, they became shit.

So dubstep is going to become the next Gwen Stefani?

Hmm, I didn't think about that.

Okay, I'll allow it this time.

Like I said though, going against the norm makes me feel validated as a person.

yep... it says I was 'messing'... I don't need to use teef to tell Huge I'm just 'messing'.

It certainly says NOTHING about my taste in good music... you know 'good' being a subjective term an all.

Well this being the internet and all, it's kind of hard to see who's messing or who isn't, know what I mean? Anyway, whatever, this isn't going anywhere or helping the thread.

I am in love with this mix.

Have heard a lot of tracks with this tip whilst exploring what I can of dubstep but not a mix of this kind that ventures only into this sorta sound.

To me this is almost like minimal DnB, with wonderfully quirky acid lines and slow and creeping moments of texture. Does it for me. So good.

I think I heard it once before then forgot about it somehow.

Totally different to what I had dubstep pegged as.

Listened to this again this afternoon, it's quality, a good dose of different kind of dubstep with some familiar tunes. It's got a bit of a sexier flavour, is laid back in a not-so-dark kind of way, and I think will be the kind of example that pulls up dubstep's awareness.
