++ Forza 2 comes out this month. April was crap for games but its looking on the up now.
I'm pretty sure release here is 14th of June. I hope I'm wrong though!
Nah its going on Xbox Live word wide 5am PDT to be precise - open from the 16th of May until the 6th of June. You can't tell I've been waiting or anything
Need to have either bought a marked pack of Crackdown or done the "Rule of three" thing to get a spot. I just bought crackdown.
And WTF? it looks fucking unbelievable! Have you seen the trailer DLPB?
First you get her name. Then you get her number. Then you get some get some in the back seat of a hummer!

You don't think it looks exactly the same as halo 2, if you play halo 2 in you're 360 its almost the fuckin same!! What i'm saying is for the cost Microsoft are going to charge for the game they could have done a lot more work on it.
If you've played STALKER you would know what next gen environments should be lookin like. Stalker has grass and bushes & even dust storms all effected by wind. Haven't seen any of this in Halo. Though i did see a kool explosion.

halflife 2 and expansions, please.
spectacularly lush and detailed scenery (including very realistic grass), affected by wind and whatnot. but, much more importantly, the ability to interact with your entire environment. there's a reason hl2 is the only game i've really bothered spending any time on in the last few years (mechwarrior 2, gta:sa, gt4, hl2).

The environments in Stalker are hardly next gen. They're cutting edge, yes, but they're not incredible. Far Cry had "realistic" grass and bushes in it 4 years ago. Weather effects were implemented in Oblivion... which is what, two years old now?
Anyways, Halo isn't exactly all about environments and graphics. For most (inc me), gameplay is more important than the way a game looks.
Also... and fucking hell I think I'm going into fanboy territory with this whole argument - Also, those screens aren't final either.

For the 3rd gen of the same game I think they could have done a bit more that what they appear to have done. I still get it I just think it should be charged as an upgrade but I also think that about all the EA sports titles!
And re COD4, i'm playing COD3 at the moment and its pissing me off in single player so not sure if i will venture to COD4.
Anyway for popper multi player i am so looking forward to Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
Yeah quake wars looks sweet.. although to be honest I haven't seen a lot of it.
But check out cod4, it's not done by the same team who did cod3 and it's not set in ww2! omg!
The team actually started working on it just after cod3 began production.

Gears of War kicks the shit through everything for environmental detail. Period.
At 1920x1080 on a 40" screen it looks pretty fucking good and the environment is way better than anything i've played recently. I love the passing storms and lighting changing through the day/night.
But Metal Gear 4 and The Getaway are 2 games that would make me get a PS3
In this latest Gamasutra main feature, Kevin R. Grazier, Ph.D., who also serves as the scientific advisor for the Sci Fi channel's television series Battlestar Galactica, presents an excerpt from the book 'Halo Effect,' an unauthorized collection of essays based on Bungie and Microsoft's bestselling series.
In the following extract, Grazier discusses how a detailed fictional universe can help spur the imaginations of its fans, as exemplified by not only Halo, but a host of other popular representatives of the science fiction genre as well:
“Fans of science fiction media willingly allow ourselves to believe that the Enterprise can transport people by converting them to energy and subsequently reconstructing them, that Galactica has artificial gravity, and that the Millennium Falcon can, in fact, make the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs. We accept a measure of unproven (faster-than-light travel), or even highly implausible (light sabers), science and technology if it’s interwoven with a ripping good yarn.â€
Intro looks awesome.. the game has some nice effects.. but it's not really
all that fun to play.
And seriously.. what's with the controller? Feels so cheap.
I assume they will bring out a new one in the future with rumble.. but the current one is pretty poor.
i was waiting to play moto storm in jb las week, watching this kid _try_ and play it was so frustrating. i just wanted to see the gfx but the dickhead just kept running into the fences and beeping the horn and shit.

When I was looking at games to get with it this "local broadmeadows resident" says to me (and I shit you not)....
"Maaate, you got this game?"
/picks up Pimp my Ride/
"You gotta get it maate. trust me. It's siiic""
I couldn't help myself. Just started laughing.
Hindsight suggests I should have replied with a.
"nah, I'm only interested in the fulli siic games maaate"

Yeah.
Tried it in JB a few weeks ago.
Lame.
I had high hopes for it as a replayable title but the handling of the vehicles is, well, just ghey really.
Tried the motor bike and it was worse.
I reckon the 1st generation of PS3 games will have only a few great titles but 2nd generation will get better.
the game runs just as well, i didnt notice any difference. its worth starting again with it tho as you can make much more cash and carry much more stuff.
