If by "ecleptic and accessable" you mean breaks, prog and tech-house then check my sig.

If not then maybe Toff, St Geromes, Workshop, Cookie.

Actually it's Alex's last night lounge downstairs, he always plays a bit of a mixed bag.

thanks jbs.

yeh I thought workshop but its a crunk hyphy night, might get on the nerves after a while. Cherry bar is usually ok but not comfortable enough for long stays. Wouldn't mind going somewhere haven't been though. Don't thnk I've been to cookie, whats goin on there?

yeah but its Saturday, so no suits yeah?!?!

i reckon you would be sweet for the back part of Workshop, behind the bar part cos then the music isn't too much and you can have your own space.

How about Loop?

Cookie would be pretty non-offensive, just gets pretty packed sometimes.

that joint upstairs from cookie seems cool, fucked if i can remember the name though.

Of course you could go the old stalwart of the "Narre Warren in the big smoke for the night" crowd, Icon Bar.

btw whats ecleptic? what you get when you're suffering from eclepsy?

Oh whut Flippo- my birthday drinks aren't good enough for your mates to come to? HUH?!

Prudence and the Drunken Poet are great on Saturday nights- you'd definitely dig the tune selection at Prudence- and they have chess. I daresay we'll end up there at some point that night. Drunken Poet is just down on Peel Street across from the Spanish Donut van at the Vic Market- they have hookey AND a dj who will play any indie you can think of... if he doesn't have it this week he'll have it next week.

<3 the 3051...can't wait to move back there

I lolled.

Cookie. Shudder. Perhaps it is just the acrid aftertaste of memories past. Working there on Saturday was a nightmare. You would have Blair from neighbours and his mates yelling at each other and expecting the Royal Treatment because they were (or were associated with) a C-grade celebrity, a few trashed slappers grinding on each other and someone from accounts eating the face of someone from HR in the cocktail lounge. We would find someone with their ass-crack showing (these were the days of the muffin-top jeans) and the first person to throw ice down the crack from behind the bar would get to name the next staff shot.

On the positive side, there are loads of tables, food, good beer (get in early for a table).
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

two new bars i have been introduced too which were pretty sweet:

The Dining Room - on Smith Street. Massive Warehouse styles with couches everywhere and pool table. The place is HUGE!!!!

Blue Diamond - on Queen Street (in CQ building go up to 15th floor) it looks something out of a James Bond film and so did the cool kids who lurked in there. All decked out similar to Polly on Brunswick Street, real swish, outside balcony with a view across Melbourne. And the dudes that run the place are massive black guys dressed in old school ganster suits. Fuckin cool.

panama?
reall nice space up there. food is avrage at best, retro 'at home with mum' cooking feel. Overpriced as well.

Great bar area however with a really nice view over the projects and out yonder.

Would like to see the restaurant booted to make way for a mad rave.

Panama is so awesome.. havent eaten there but smith st is full of better places to eat anyway.

as far as a place to drink and be merry - large, not packed with people, everyone minds their own business, mix of tunage.. great spot.
