Dickheads who don't watch where they are driving!!!

Just got cleaned up on my way to pick up the kids. I'm driving at 40kph and a dude in a van came out of T intersection straight into the side of me. Pushed my car into another parked car. So I got 5 panels of damage. YAY!

Car is fucked. My head hurts. And best of all.. prob be without a car for next 2-3 weeks.

Thank god it was on way to get the kids and not on the way back.

Got a lump and cut on top of head but all okay. More pissed off than anything else.

Just mega glad Lisa or kids weren't in car... would've ended up in hospital.

The timing belt on my car's gone. $1000-1500. Bought it second hand one year ago. Crying.

I'm in a quandary. Do I:

a) stick it out for a few months, try save and get a new timing belt (bought the car for twice the amount the new timing belt would cost)
b) stick it out til the car dies and buy another used piece of shit
c) try sell the car before this happens and let some other poor schmuck deal with it.

I'm not that kind of person, but I can't afford to be so royally screwed. I hate being dishonest and I'd probably fail miserably at it though

option D, fix it yourself for a fraction of the cost

the actual timing belt itself costs one quarter of fuck all. it's the labour they sting you for

buy the manual for the car for $30 and the timing belt for about the same and knock it over in a weekend

you'll also need a timing light, but you can hire those
