There is a really good rest there, that 70% of its customers are Thai, they have a special Thai menue in Thai for the Thai's, they even do Morning Glory!huge wrote:charlie dont go to richmond for Thai lol

It is better than anywhere i have eaten before... Outside Thailand of course
I think i tried to order from Thaila once before and they would not alter anything, I need my Thai place to do my meals Thai style, that means mince the chicken, extra spicy, and they would not do it... Chicken pieces, unless it is a curry, doesn't taste as good... Oh no this one was on Sidders...
OK will try them, fingers crossed....
Pad Gra needs to come with minced chicken or pork....

i made croissants and pain au chocolat this morning. it actually takes 3 days to make the dough! croissants did not quite turn out as good as i'd hoped, i didnt quite roll the butter into the dough enough, so this morning it had not risen as much as it should have overnight in the fridge. was very hard to do when my house is 30 degrees! hah! still very tasty. the pain au chocolat is absolutely awesome!

made the BEST vegie lasagne this week.... got three MASSIVE meals out of it, plus other house mates had one or two as well.....
1 carrot
1 zuccini
2 portobella mushrooms
1 bunch of brocolini stalks
4 large peeled tomatos
1/2 cup of cashews
6 cloves of garlic
2 brown onions
300g mozzarella cheese
1 cup bechamel sauce
parmesan cheese
olive oil (extra virgin)
fesh lasagne sheets (I used latina fresh)
1 jar of this olive & caper pasta sauce.... $14 bux per bottle but totally worth it. thick, tasty as!
soften onions in oil
add garlic
add chopped veges, allow then to get covered in oil and browned sllightly from hot pan...
chop the tomatos finely (this is messy) and add pasta sauce and cashews.
Then add some water so that all the veges are covered in liquid (mainly sauce and tomato juice)
simmer until veges are tender and the sauce has reduced (thickened)
layer the ingredients in a large baking dish (I had to use two)
vege mix
bechamel
mozzarella (light spinkling)
pasta
vege mix
bechamel
mozzarella (light spinkling)
pasta
etc etc
then to finnish, cut some strips of pasta about 1.5 cms thick and lay them diagonally accross the top and then pile the rest of the mozzarella on, then a light spinkle of parmesan and some sea salt.
put the dish into the oven at 180 degrees for about 20 - 30 mins (keep an eye on it) or until brown on top.

love the look of that vegie lasagne dan. used to make lasagne a fair bit but haven't for a while. i think you've inspired me to get back into it!
peeps should check out the lasagne night at the espy too. weds night is $10 lasagne night, two meat options and a vegie one to choose from. mmmmm.
had takeaway from everest last night. i'd have to say it was close to the best indian food i've ever had in my life. insanely good and really reasonably priced too. can't wait for lunchtime to eat my leftovers

Why you shouldn't piss off a food critic...
The Epicure wrote:The British press recently hailed the upholding of a defamation appeal in the Irish courts as a victory for free speech and unfettered reviewing of restaurants. The courts ruled for The Irish News and against the restaurant Goodfellas, which had earlier been successful in defamation proceedings against the paper. The Times immediately put critic Giles Coren on a plane to Belfast to swing the newly validated club of reviewing freedom over the collective Goodfellas skull. He didn't disappoint.
"It is revolting. It is ill-conceived, incompetent, indescribably awful," wrote Coren of his pollo marsala. "A dish so cruel I weep not only for the animal that died to make it, but also for the mushrooms as it sits before me, congealing quietly, I cannot leave it alone but return to it every few minutes with the grim fascination of a toddler mesmerised by a pile of its own faeces, nibbling at it, gurning with revulsion, then nibbling some more. If you've ever sniffed your finger after scratching your arse, and then done it again, then this dish may not be entirely wasted on you." We get the picture.
