Nup. Finished bottom last year, but still managed to miss out on the priority draft picks because Carlton are a bunch of tanking poofs!

Haven't been in a GF since '82, haven't won one since '80.

From experience - those who win footy tipping comps don't necessarily know a lot about footy Charlie... fear not.

If you want advice, the Friday Herald Sun sports section has a page dedicated to tipping... I'd put more faith in those "experts" than any one person on here...

Do it Charlie!

PS: if it's through www.footytips.com.au - which the Melbourne Beats comp is, you only have to place tips once - and it enters them into all of your comps.

PS: sign up, sign up - it's free!

true
I think if you read the footy articles in the paper every day, you get a feeling of whats happening at the clubs, this is SO important to be able to pick a winner as a club may have an awesome side on paper, they may be in the top 4 on the ladder etc but off field conflicts, sickness, distractions etc all effect player and team performance.

I replied to this before... it's dissapeared...

I'd reckon Carlton will go into the game favourites with or without the Fev, however as a RFC supporter I'd much rather play the Blues without Fevola on the field.

Yes, they were... but there main man is new recruit CHRIS JUDD.

And he's playing, alongside the recently-returned-from-injury Nick Stevens and their handful of top draft picks over the past few years....

Danger for Tigers... but then again, every game is danger for the Tigers

so what is the issue with the Tigers, is it $$$ or coaching issues?

Yeah I have a theory that Chris Judd said he missed home and that is why he was leaving West Coast, but was it actualy the culture at that club he didn't want to be around?

look at me talking football

Not really $$$ - although it was a few years back, the Tigers almost went belly up in the late 80's.
Just a long, long drought since the club has tasted any real success. Most likely due to the coaching department and general administration in (recruiting etc).

I reckon you could be right - it definately would have factored into the situation you'd think.

Or.....

as he is currently being referred to as:

The Juddanaut
Juddalenko
Judd Do IT
Judd Dredd

It's on this week Spiesy!

and I don't think Fevolator will get a week off - not in the first week, although given that Richmond aren't really going to put up that much of a fight, maybe they will rest him to teach him a lesson.

time will tell.

Go Blues

thats funny Scotty, i never knew you were a Blues supporter....but then again, why would anyone have let me know that in the past.. what? 6 -7 years or so while Carlton have been cellar dwellars. Its funny how they come out of the woodwork.

I know it was the Dee's, and they're down and weak as piss at the moment, but DAMN!!!

I'm all for recruiting old, fat, has-beens, too, if they play like Dew.

GO HAWKS!!!

Big ups Richmond winning, too. With all the talk of Judd, you'd have thought they'd have laid down.

I know it's only 1 game in, but I'm so fricken happy footy's back.

I'm with you OB1 - great to have footy back!

STOKED with the Tigers effort on Thu night. I ended up sitting amongst Carlton reserve members (due to free tix), I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN.

OMFG - I know every supporter is one-eyed, but try sitting in the eye of the Carlton whinging storm when they're behind.... fuck me!

Two words: Jake King.

Not a good start for the Blue Baggers! Richmond played some good footy, well done for the season opener.

Expected a bit more from the lads, fingers crossed they improve next week....
