great places or ideas for dates?

Post by quick »

for those of you that still date, whats some great ideas or places to go for fun/dinner/drinks/whatever?

I got a great tip on here from Ani a few years ago about the 'cruise by the constellations' thingy... boat cruise with champagne to science works where telescopes where set up to see Saturn and alpha centauri...

cool ideas welcome!

and everyone that uses this thread to take a cheap shot at my expense is just jealous :teef:

cmon give the guy a break, he's putting some thought into where to take a girl on a night out and would obviously like her to have a good time - respect quickles.

depends on the girl though doesn't it?

For example - I reckon the ACMI Game On exhibition would be a rad date - I'd be stoked! - but I'm sure there are as many girls who would think the experience was complete fail as there would be who think it was awesome fun

I agree with mrj actually - I would be happy with Game On... Also do a walking date, headi into the city and grab some coffee's and just walk around, stop off for anibble of you get hungry somewhere.

Or picnic basket out to Rickett's Sanctuary in the Hills...

Or the Zoo...

Or a dinner and drinks...

Or there is some place you can go in the city that has dinner and dancing old styles...

just feed her lots of chocolate: San Churros AND Koko Blak
and keep telling her (while she's eating the chocolate preferably) that she's got the smallest ass on the planet (for some reason girls are stupid enough to believe a small ass is a good thing)

you're probably gonna have to use that one a whole lot (even if the girl changes the words will prob stay the same) so you may as well start practising now

oh yeah and while you're at it you may as well perfect that look, you know, the one like you're absolutely RIVETED by her hours of inane babble, if in doubt the days you mastered falling asleep at uni without keeling over or snoring too loudly will come in real handy for this one

get those down pat and it wont even matter WHERE (or how) you take her, least not after the first couple of times anyway..

dont want no 'small ass' comments here thanks! love my bootae ta very much!

seems you gots a pretty negative view shabana??

quickles > nobody dates anymore and i love dates. i love dates with friends even, like special hangouts with intention just the two of you!
the boy and i only really get wednesday evenings together so that is our date evening.
sometimes we go out for dinner, or we cook at home with wine...
but dates do sound corny even thuogh they are great.
dressing up for dates is fun too....

i like walks through autumn leaves at this time of year,
i like walking to a high point in yarra park with a longneck or two and some spliffs
i like sneaking into the coburg drive in with your radio and having a free drive in movie (although a tad cold at this time of year)
i like art exhibitions but ony if you can laugh at the borgiousue together.

i would like game on as a date

i think movies are often dumb casue you sit in the dark for two hours together

i think the planetarium sounds great, been in san fran but not here does it exsits?

whew, its date day today, can you tell ? ;)

what could two people of the opposite sex possibly do together whilst in the dark for two hours

recipe for boredom IMO.

You can hire boats down @ Mordialloc and take em out in the Bay... could be a good idea if the weather's not too cold.
Don't think it's overly pricey either... take a packed lunch, bottle of bubbly and a portable stezza - goodtimes for all!

Hows about the drive in?
Then you can do whatever you want, but there is the added bonus that if nothin' is gonna happen, you have a movie to watch.

We take our own food & drinks, cheese platter, dips, chips, desserts etc.

But it is a bit of a hike, Dandenong is the best drive in in Melb.
But if you like a nice arvo drive by the sea, and a nice early dinner, Dromana is also pretty good.

I think dating is a lovely idea and a lost art!

If possible find out what she likes and have a think about what you can do building on that. This ensures you get double kudos for taking her on a date AND clearly being a nice guy and thinking about what she likes!

A few good general ideas however:

- bike ride along one of the nicer bike paths through the city ending at some nice pub / restaurant

- depending on what the weather is like in melbs now: rhodedendron gardens in Olinda with picnic including champagne (and cupcakes from Per Tutti if she is a sweet tooth!);

- mo vida for tapas and sangria

- even dinner and a good movie is really nice - just make sure that you do your research on the movie beforehand and don't do like my mate who took this chick to see Hotel Rwanda on their first date (which I think was also their last)!

Good luck Stevey!

food and wine show is a great idea because you're mobile, walking around, it has a rowdy, fun vibe and you can get silly drunk

if all goes well, head on to lunch/ dinner somewhere quieter

good on ya quickster- needs more fellas like you
