so fallout 3 has the potential to be every bit the life and time sucker that oblivion was. you have been warned

its great fun, graphics and gameplay are great, i thort the VATS system would be for gheys but i actually like the strategy element that it adds (ie shoot in the leg to stop em moving, mebbe in the arm to stop em shooting, or head to stop em all together lol). I love letting characters with no guns (like ghouls) get right on top of you so you have a high % chance of hitting them and then blowing their skull apart. effective too (no shit, like halving someones head could ever be described as ineffective)

but FUCK ME if I can't find Good News Radio. Every which way seems to be blocked. and I've looked. a lot.

of and the scrolling and shit gives me a bit of a headache or summat, a problem that I actually didn't experience with oblivion.

I am hopelessly addicted to Fallout 3. It took me a while, but there's just this point where it turns and it fucking OWNS you. Very similar to Oblivion.

had a go of it the other day, i thought it was majorly over rated. but i didnt like oblivion as well.

I didnt think the graphics were that great either, maybe cuz on ps3 dunno, but it thought they were fairly boxy sortta graphics.

not my kinda game tho so ya know.

and i do like dubstep so that may have sumfin to do with it.

Uh... so I just finished Fallout 3 for the first time.

The main quest line seems incredibly short compared to the other Fallout games.

The writing overall is great but still not quite up to the standard of the previous games.

The overhauling of the combat system and the move to a first person perspective is ok but the wrong thing to do imo. Would have preferred the isometric view of the previous games. The inclusion of FPS combat makes it seem a little too fast for my liking - and once again is a massive step away from the system of the older games. VATS seems to be useless at long range and enemies move too quickly in FPS mode to make long-range combat any good.

When it boils down to it, the game seems to be a 'true' sequel. The atmosphere of the original Fallout games has been (near)perfectly captured. I suppose the one thing other thing I found a bit weak was the lack of offbeat humour and adult themes that the first two games had. I mean... Fallout 2 is still the only game I know where you can become a fluffer and take 5 poison damage every time you do the job.

As Pete said, the graphics are a little blocky. Interior levels are a joy to look at but character animation is a little stiff and everybody seems to glide over the environment.

There have been plenty of LOL moments though, especially with heads and limbs flying off in different directions.

edit: I have a feeling that Bethesda are really relying on people to go through the side quests in order to flesh out the game. Unlike Oblivion (Bethesda's previous game), the side quests are fun, varied and have heaps of atmosphere and character.

He was doing this stuff over a year ago along with a couple of other cool things.

But you would be hard pressed to find any developers doing anything cool with the wii.

Interestingly Sony has been doing some stuff like this with their new motion controllers

the wii controller part of this is not the cool bit imo.... I mean, all it is is an infrared camera and a couple of infrared LEDs. Sure, the fact that he's pulled it off with a wii controller is cool and all... but sure any game developer could included the necessary hardware with whatever game they want to make with it. Seems pretty simple really.

Well I've just been given a PDA Sony PEG-TJ35/H by my aunty.
Trying to figure the bloody thing out, main problem is I can't turn it on because its flat (I have discovered the solution to this, buying the PEGAUC55 docking thingy which can charge it and also sync it with the computer)

However what exactly does this thing do? Seriously is this going to be of ANY use at all? Does anyone know what these things do?

Loving GOW2. Gameplay is the same as the first, which is great because it didn't need anything new. Level design and style is AWESOME.
Heaps of new enemies, and GUNS!!! Weapons are brilliant! It seems that picked up all the little gripes from the first game and fixed them. Yay!

Soo many new games out at the moment.

Fallout 3 - Loving it, havent gotten too far, but really like the graphics, style of play, story.

Far Cry 2 - Awesome game, love some of the animations, sunrise / sunset looks ace. Story is good so far, and everything seems to flow really nicely.

Red Alert 3 - Looks good, still not used to the new style of getting resources, (supposed to make the game fairer) but totally changes the play of the game compared to old c & c games. Still graphics look good. Keen to play the campaign mode in co-op.

So jealous of ppl with a 360 right now. Gears of war was soo much fun playing on pc co-op style. Looks like gears of war 2 wont come out on PC for ages.

Pre purchased Left 4 Dead - played the demo, omg its fun. Kill them Zombies !!!!!!!!
