iPhone.. zomg
Re: iPhone.. zomg
If you don't see yourself using 3G much maybe don't get an iPhone?
Don't hate me for house
Re: iPhone.. zomg
I've been looking for a phone I could love for about 3 months, it seems the best one so far. And just cause I don't use 3G that much currently, doesn't mean I won't want to in the future. No point getting a phone without it at this stage of the telecommunications game.
Happy to hear of other recommendations of course...

I have no handset repayments on my plan, but I pay an extra $9 for insurance
I also don't see the point in jailbreaking it?

Re: iPhone.. zomg
Are with Optus though BRB? THink i am on that plan too. Telstra you have to pay for the phone, get less total call value (although calls are cheaper so half dozen there) and you get more usage for interwebs on Optus.
I investigated this in full and hands down the Optus plan was the winner (at around $80 per month), given I do not plan to be using much out in the sticks where Telstra would be a dominator given the coverage.

Re: iPhone.. zomg
yep, I'm with Optass on a $79 cap (16Gb iPhone). Sam pays for the phone, but she's on a $49 cap
I did the research too and it was laughable what Telstra were offering

Re: iPhone.. zomg
now that 3.0 is out, will it comes standard?
Think I'm gonna go for the $79 cap after all. I use the phone for work sometimes (when I have fucking work ) so I'll probably need the extra.
Now I'm excited

Re: iPhone.. zomg
when you get the phone you need to plug into itunes and it will update the phone to the latest software. Itunes is essential.

It's hasn't been released just yet, I think it will be in Junemixtress wrote:now that 3.0 is out, will it comes standard?
http://www.apple.com/au/iphone/preview-iphone-os/
If it's not already on the iPhone when you buy it (after the 3.0 release) then it's easily updated through your iTunes (which you use to synch apps, music, ringtones etc)

Just jumped on the Optus mobile site and came up with this:breaksRbest wrote:I have no handset repayments on my plan, but I pay an extra $9 for insurance
http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocapor ... e=personal
Sorry for the big link, keep forgetting how to imbed it.
It reckons I have to make handset payments on the $79 cap...what the...?
Did you negotiate or am I missing something?

Re: iPhone.. zomg
the normal optus 'yes' plans are worth looking into as well. i've got 15c/30sec for local _and international_ calls, and 2gb of data.

Normally you can only run apps on the iphone that are available through the App store. Jailbreaking your iphone lets you run other applications that people have developed, but aren't available in the App store. It also has other features like allowing you to run background processes (multiple apps at one time) and other such things.breaksRbest wrote:I still don't understand the need to jailbreak an iPhone?
