collectors corner have a de-warper. Most second hand places do. Liquorice pie do a service (not sure if they can de-warp) but they have a vinyl vacumm cleaner that sucks all the dirt out, they'll do that and replace the inner and outer sleeve for quite cheap.

they other thing Ive been told but i reckon its a bit risky is put it between 2 pieces of glass, in not to intense sun for ages.

Good luck

let me know if anything works!

Nice 1. Will go have a look at lunch.

Looked at the glass option but cant really see myself going to all that effort for something which might make it worse.

The glass option as Shikung explained does work and has been tried and tested my myself a few times now. One crucial thing with this is do make sure the glass has cooled before you move it to remove your record. failure to do this will only result in more warping.

yeh i did the glass thing and it worked.. not 100% but enough

someone also told me to leave it under a massive weight for a week or so, I think I did a maaasive stack of phonebooks.
That worked slightly..

So how do you do this glass thing then? Like how hot does it need to be and how long etc etc.

a nice long sunny day. all day and night to cool down. I painted a wooden panel black to draw in the heat, then placed the record and covered it with the glass, found four bricks to weigh it down' left in the sun all day till night when it had cooled. record still had a slight warp but was at least playable where before it was destined to the rubbish bin.

Also make sure the glass and panel is smooth and free of debris. you can place record in a paper sleeve during the process.

I have also physically bent records back into shape, but you do risk breaking them in half and this has happened also.

but back to the glass thing. It needs to get very hot and you'll be surprised at how hot they get with this method.

I've had good luck with this:

record > sheet of metal > big pot of hot water. By the time pot was cold, records were good.

worked a treat with that BLIM remix (Phazon Phrequency?) that I got a few years back - fucking great tune that still gets a workout.

Ive probably destroyed about 4 records by trying to bend them lol.

I've heard of people pulling the plate off their technics, putting the record on it and placing it in the oven at 300 degrees for 20 mins.

I was never that game tho.

Man that is a sick tune. Pretty rare to find as well.

MY BEDROOM IS PAINTED RED. ITS A HORRIBLY VIOLENT SHADE OF RED BUT I'M AFRAID TO CHANGE IT BECAUSE I FEEL I MIGHT MAKE LESS AGGRESSIVE MUSIC IF I DO.

You could definitely put them in the oven on an all metal platter.

Don't think 300 degrees is right though.. I mean they are indeed created using steam and a few tonnes of pressure... 300 degrees seems a tad too hot.

Hmmm... I'd do it but at a lower heat and monitored for longer...

You could always warp an old record that you really don't care about (over a heater) and then try fixing it up oven-style see if it works.

- If you were an audio-addict you could even take a pre initial-warping recording and then after you've cooked it for a while and it goes flat (ish), do it again and analyse the two. That way you (and the rest of the internet) would know if there is any degradation.
