Maha.. interesting to hear what you thought Gnat!

That's shonk on the wine list. When I went to Rockpool the sommelier did a good job of picking something for us less than $80 that was lovely, in both white and red.

The desserts are the only thing I've had from Maha and they were lovely. Maybe I stick to them? I had their pommegranate tea too. OD. too much sugar :(

Next dining adventure - Cafe Di Stasio $30 slow food lunch deal!

ffs I come back and Sprout Salads has closed down, Spudbar has done a terrible job of rebranding and at least one Sataybar has gone.

Suggestions for new lunch places within 10mins walk of Bourke and King please.

it's a bit of a back water for good food up there eh.
- Blanc on King St has pretty yummo food, mad coffee and hot barista
- Bank Place food store (cnr bank place and little collins) has mad baguettes for a fiver and everything else looks pretty dope too
- lunch specials at La Di Da aren't toooo bad if you want something bigger
- Cafenatics on some lane next to McCracken's (off little Collins just past King) have great foccacias, but are a little exxy
- Hugo's espresso look like they have pretty good foccacias too, but am yet to try
- sushi is all about Sushi Monger off Bourke St mall (ANZ on the cnr)

all a bit sameish...but they're the ones I tend to frequent.

welcome back! :smt006

this one was pretty bomb >

crunchy noodles (not too many)
slices of cucumber
cubes of cream cheeese
cubes of honey dew/mellon

then pan-sear slices of duck and spring onions in a little bit of peanut oil

mix up.

then make this sauce to put on it

cup of apple cider vinigar
2 diced chillis
orange rind to taste (don't need alot, can easily ruin it with too much orange)
and a tablespoon of honey.

yumstyle.

Did a similar thing the other week > replace the honey in the sauce with rasberry, make a bed of mashed up cream cheese cubes and crunchy noodes, put a nice salmon steak fillet ontop (season the fuck out of it prior to cooking imo), drizzle with the sauce.

I've been to the Sunday Masa Lunch at Press Club. It was beautiful! Way too much food for 2 ppl but we were really impressed with the quality. Oh to eat that roast chicken, lemon potatoes and skordalia again! The antipasti, seafood, pasta and desserts were great too.

I'd love to go again for dinner, but will try Hellenic Republic next, since it is up the road from me.

Yeah I've done press club. Was really good, but think we got the banquet/degustation when we probably shouldn't have... Too much food (and not all courses were amazing)!

If I went again I'd just choose a few tasty dishes.

Sure you'll enjoy.

Fantastic food and not so expensive now it's moved out of brunswick st. Not sure if Moonee Ponds counts as northside, though.

the owners have a new place in moonee ponds, they had to sign a deal saying that they wouldn't own a greek restaurant within x distance. pireaus blues is still right there on brunswick st tho, and still awesome.
