The Operatives have strived to achieve the most forward thinking individuals in this arena of music. Having already hosted numerous DnB tours including the likes of The Upbeats, Concord Dawn, Marcus Intalex, Doc Scott and many more. Over the last few years, the Operatives has hosted a range of events including a vast array of artists including DJ Craze, Gilles Peterson, Platinum Pied Pipers, Recloose, The Nextmen, Mark de Clive Lowe, Freddie Cruger, Aloe Blacc, Jazzanova, Maurice Fulton, Theo Parish, DJ Marky, The Mixologists as well as run the Australian tours for Gaslamp Killer, Hudson Mohawke and of course Flying Lotus (Last Australian/NZ tour was a sell out).

5 years on, it's time to celebrate, and what better way than to have the DJs DJ, Bailey, take the reigns.....

Arguably one of the leaders of the world wide drum 'n' bass movement, DJ Bailey has been a major force in the scene since his performances at the Metalheadz club nights at the old Blue Note in 1996. From this beginning DJ Bailey has gone on to perform all around the world and at the biggest club nights and festivals in the UK, including One Nation, AWOL, Movement, Creamfields, Valve, Fabric Live, The End, Dreamscape, Slamming Vinyl, and not forgetting Goldie's club Metalheadz and Fabio's club Swerve both at which he is a resident.

His gift for precision and his natural intuition for what the people want has lead BBC 1Xtra to secure Bailey as part of their core starting line up, every Sunday night (11pm – 1am) and in 2003 he won the award for 'Best Radio Show' at the Knowledge Drum and Bass Awards. Bailey has used this role to push new and unknown emerging talents, bucking the trend of scene elitism to drive the movement forward. His sets encompass the variety and musical texture that make drum 'n' bass unique, never settling on one style long enough to be pigeon-holed.

Cant miss the Bailey.......... still remember old set from The Lounge back in the day. Man has some serious talent

I miss Thursdays at the lounge back when the beats were rocking and we had no responsibilitys for work the next day ;-(

Con never ran any dnb nights at lounge. He was (and still is) the manager there, but he didn't run the night.

Thursdays at lounge were originally Soulaar, which was 1LC, Trooper and co. and then it was 40hZ, which was Lex and Phil Ruxspin.

Then it was taken over by the Kombat Bass boys.

Yeah your right, back when it was Soluaar was crazy, good times, 40hz and Kombat did good but always will have fond memories of the Solaar days first when I was getting properly into dnb. Least I'm not alone in showing my age
