Eeeewww it's even worse to look at today...
Yeah I suppose it's inevitable that you're gonna get people coming that you could never live with in a million years. I don't think I realised how hard it would be to find compatible people until I started looking at places. Still haven't got somewhere myself but 2 more to look at this week so we shall see

August 2010 has 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays, 5 Tuesdays, all in one month. It happens only once in 823 years.

that's bullshit Hugh... it happens again exactly like that in 2021
the last time it happened was 2004
I'm only talking about August too, it you include other months it would certainly happen more often.

ZOMG, when combined with Google Voice, this is so very very win. Along with Dropbox, may well be nerd innovation of the year. (Mind you, Telephone has my vote for new softphone...)huge wrote:i just called my desk phone from my gmail account! technology!

My beef with them is with their subscription system. They used to have really cheap country subscriptions and at some point decided to 'restructure pricing', which conveniently jacked the prices up. Fine, whatever, things get more expensive - that, I could have coped with. But then things started to get a bit squiffy...
They actually decided to 'honour' existing subscriptions, so you got to keep your price if your subscription was ongoing. HOWEVER, there was (and possibly still is) no way to change/add payment sources. Once your credit card expired, you had no way of keeping your existing subscription alive and you'd get a "payment failed, your account will be terminated" message. After which, your only option was to take out a new subscription at the new (more expensive) rate. Oh, and all this with NO contact whatsoever to advise of the changes and World Champion Incompetence in Customer Service.
I mean, fuck. If they had just sent me an email saying the prices were going up, then fine. But forcing you to default on your existing plan?

It's idiotproof? Yes, I back up to servers and I'm sure there is some way to automate the process (that I cbf even trying to find out), but day-to-day I can stop pretending and revert to being a complete nuffie . I can also advise other complete nuffies to 'just use it.' Most importantly, it has a black and white menu bar option <3system wrote:i don't see what's so new about dropbox
Mebbe I should have specified, 'innovation by nerds'...

The aforementioned birds are also nuts. have had them attack on the golf course before. nothing a swift loft wedge doesn't fix.
Nb. no birds where hurt within the typing of this post.

A hawk killed my wifes old man's Cockie last night. He had that bird for 54 years. No shit. Still had plenty of life in it. One wound - severed the spine in one hit. Viscious. Very sad.

I like watching birds Weve got a feeder near the kitchen window and i can watch them for so long. Watching the cockies try and fly in throw the bushes is a pisser. They usually crash land on the bowl in a massive blaze. Had finches there on the weekend! I was very excited. Ha.
Dboy, thats so sad, im sorry your poor dad, thats a kid like amount of time to have a pet.

Poor fella, but isnt that cockie in a cage, how did the hawk get at him?
When i was a kid i heard this massive bang on our lounge room window, had a look and there was this rather large hawk shaking itself off on the deck railing and our family cat, gazing out the window. Hawk must have seen cat, tried to swoop in on him and BANG into the window.

Re: THE THREAD ABOUT NOTHING
Na, Cockie just used to rock around on the balcony. His wings were either clipped or broken, cant remember, so it couldn't fly. Hawk did it in one hit, for no apparent reason. Just cause it could.
Hope the Hawks get absalutely smashed this weekend.
