Dub Club Melbourne Celebrates 4 Years // SAT 3 SEP Heartical
Dub Club Melbourne celebrates four years of Basement Sessions on Sat 3rd September, and after last months successful launch of Heartical HiFi’s new bass scoops, yes we ready again for another big one. Joining the crew for this special event will be Chris Jay from the UK’s ‘Dubwise Productions’ record label. Get ready for foundation shaking reggae revive, original dancehall, rootical dub and ultra heavyweight bass line drops on the mighty custom built sound machine.
Chris Jay is the co founder and music maker of Dubwise Productions a ‘UK Roots’ record label. Inspired by sound systems sounds such a Jah Shaka and Aba Shanti, the label has been producing and releasing roots reggae since 1994. With a catalogue of releases, Dubwise Productions has gained a reputation. For working with a variety of established and emerging artists. Their debut single 'Babylon Pressure' was a sound systems hit and also, played on Radio One by John Peel and Andy Kershaw.
Dubwise Productions: “Always Diversity in Dub”
Dub Club Melbourne was formed in September 07. Working closely with resident crew Heartical HiFi Outernational, the vision was to introduce to Melbourne an international style reggae and dub ‘soundsystem culture’. It had taken a while to find a suitable venue to do this, until we found an underground basement in the city with no sound restrictions. We then began promoting our regular event appropriately named ‘Basement Sessions’.
