Rock Like This & Crossfade: The Body Snatchers (UK) 25/0
Rock Like This @ Crossfade present.........
The Body Snatchers are a prime example of the whole being more than the sum of its parts. Although it was understood that any collaboration between 30Hz (Lot49) and Baobinga (Fat!) was always going to be something special, few could have predicted the extent to which their joint project has taken off. After releasing just one single ('Rip Shit Up' on 30Hz's Vertical Sound imprint), The Body Snatchers have created anthemic remixes for Krafty Kuts and Ferry Corsten, toured America, Australia and New Zealand and are tipped as one of the hottest names to watch out for in 2007.
The Body Snatchers project was started out of a shared desire to create music that retained the funk and dirt of Breakbeat, but would not be constrained by it. With a strong sense of humour and a deep love and respect for hip-hop, ghetto-tech and dirty house, The Body Snatchers sound is one of aging analogue electronics being pushed to their limits, vocalists being coaxed into donning outlandish personas, and tuff beats swinging fluidly through the genres.
2006 saw The Body Snatchers create one of the breakbeat scene's biggest tunes to date with their anthemic, yet cheese-free remix of Ferry Corsten's Junk, featuring Guru on vocal duties. The legendary Krafty Kuts was so impressed with this addition to his sets that he commissioned the crunk-loving duo to re-lick his collaboration with Dynamite MC, 'There They Go'. Krafty was so pleased with the results that the remix will now be offered in two flavours – a full vocal version, and a 'Pimp My Vocal' mix, where boys get to flex their heavy edit skills. The second full Body Snatchers single, 'Big Ass, Mini Skirt', is a cheeky homage to the joys of a plump derriere and will be launched with a full animated video – previews of which are already attracting considerable hype on the internet.
With a full album well under way, support from some of the most influential people in dance music and a proven record of lighting up shows worldwide, 2007 will undoubtedly see The Body Snatchers continue to spread their pimped-out, booty-shaking club bangers.
