Darkbeat presents Hyper (UK) @ Brown Alley Complex

Darkbeat returns with UK act Hyper ! Guy Hatfield quickly started DJing again at the request of Lee Burridge, at his Sunday session co-hosted with his Tyrant partner Craig Richards at the Atlantis Bar off Baker Street. After becoming a resident at the Atlantis Bar, Guyâ€™s relationship with Tyrant grew and he now regularly plays at Tyrant nights at The Bomb in Nottingham.

Hyperâ€™s unique DJ sets, pushing forward breaks, have earned him the respect of fellow pioneers Adam Freeland and Tayo and the legend that is John Digweed. Hyper is now a bimonthly resident in the PuSH room at Digweedâ€™s now infamous Bedrock night at Heaven, as well as Hybridâ€™s new club night in Bristol, helping him fulfil his aim of spreading the word of breaks and converting the house hordes to a new accessible style of music.

With this aim in mind Hyper compiled and mixed the Y3K compilation on Distinctive Breaks, hailed as the most important Breaks album to date, making album of the month in DJ, Muzik, Mixmag, Wax and Ministry to name but a few. One of the leading acts in the breakbeat scene at the moment , Hyper will be officially launching his new Artist CD â€˜We Controlâ€™. Be sure to come down and get dirty with the unique sounds of Hyper , as well as an absolute monster lineup over three rooms at Brown Alley !

Set to return to Australian shores in August, the UKâ€™s Dj Hyper (aka Guy Hatfield) has indeed come a long way since his beginnings in hip hop and break beat in the fur fore of Moâ€™ Wax scene of the early 90â€™s.

After being discovered by Lee Burridge, Hyperâ€™s Y3K and Bedrock Breaks compilations and sets at John Digweedâ€™s Bedrock Night at Heaven saw him burst on to the scene with a ferocity rarely seen and gain international acclaim.

Renowned for being able to convert hoards of house heads to new eclectic and accessible styles of music, Hyper followed up his initial success with a double mix compilation Wired in 2004 and the creation of his own boutique club label Kilowattâ€“ projecting him to elite status in the breakbeat world.

He will be back to do another killa Breaks Set for us, like he did at the Rennie Pilgrem gig in May.
